  • Sunrise Now Number one at Breakfast; This is Channel Seven's catch phrase for this wonderful piece of breakfast television. It started out in 1999 as a short one hour television, with Aussie icon, Andrew Daddo and former Olympic swimmer, Joanna Griggs. It then went into limbo for a year, with bad ratings. The show then got revitalized in September, 2000. When the Olympics returned to Australia after 54 years. After the Olympics the show then went off. From 2001, it turned into a two hour breakfast show, trying to bring down Channel Nine's extremely successful, yet boring Breakfast show 'Today'. The show really kicked off in 2003 when a new type of program was show, a three hour a morning show from 6 to 9, and Financial guru David Koch joined the cast. The show was turned into a talk back radio type television show, relying most on viewers thoughts with the infamous Responsers Of Sunrise (ROS) Wall. Where they put up what viewers want them to talk about. In 2004 the studio go revitalized with segments getting moved around, to try and get the best line up of breakfast television. The best move Channel Seven made to try and take over Channel Nine in Breakfast television was when they signed Music Guru Ian 'Molly' Meldrum to be a judge of popular reality show 'Popstars'. He then became the Music reporter for Sunrise after being with Nine for so many years. Channel Seven being the Australian Boradcaster of the Athens Olympics allowed the family member of Olympians to watch the show live at the Channel Seven Studios at Mobbs Lane. Then Channel Seven dropped a bomb shell they would change Breakfast Television in Australia for ever. They moved the whole of the News & Current Affairs department to Martain Place, right in the heart of Sydney to make the news user friendly, Sunrise joined and straight after the closing ceremony of Athens, Morning Vigil watchers were shocked. They no longer saw the traditional bright colors of the Mobbs Lane Studio. They now saw the streets of Sydney.

Great Breakfast Program 9/10 The Anonomous 1

The minute they ousted Mel Doyle, i stopped watching Sam Armytage, doesn't compare to her in beauty or intelligence or hilarity. Why did you put her in a lower paid show, with out sight, out of mind mentality. A copycat sort of show. Too many news shows throughout the day, its no longer news once its been repeated over and over. Wasted channel. How about creating news only channel 77 rather than taking over channel 70.

Can you please tell me why Natalie on sunrise thinks her method of questioning is appropriate, trying to create a got you moment when interviewing guest on the morning show. It seems to be she gets distracted with her stupid line of questioning she misses the whole point. For instance the interview with the politician's this morning. She was so focused on trying to make the point the an employer can go to jail for contacting you after hours, she misses the point that the liberals stopped them from being able to fix the issue and gave them a chance to pitch a policy that would never have been news if the liberals voted in favour to remove the stupid pooicy.

Let's start with the low hanging fruit, sam is a absolute tool, not only does he make me cringe so hard that I look like a turtle with his "hello fellow teens" mixed with his just inability to interact with the young people on the news, but his attempts to involve family's always feel superficial and forced, then there's how they threat each news story, somthing interesting or important to the average person? Gotta go fast!, a king (some one the average person couldn't give a dam about and has more than enough money for treatment aswell as being on his way out from age anyway) BREAKINGNNEWS SO IMPORTANT!!, rich persons being shady? No updates, also Matt always looks uncomfortable, like he has been poured into his suit and hasn't settled evenly, and Sam looks like she can't wait to get out of there more often than not.

Sunrise is a morning news/talk show filmed at 'The Plaza' (Martin Place's seven HQ) in Sydney and on from 6am to 9am mon-fri. It is hosted by David Koch and Melissa Doyle as well as several other 'regulars' like Nelson, the Hollywood correspondent. It's informal style and wide range of subjects has helped it to overtake Nine's Today and make it a much watched show. It's a pretty good one too. Unlike nine's today show it has a far more interesting cast of hosts, each with far more personality than Nine's conformists. The show is the best morning show about, and has a news update every half hour by Nat. The news, especially in regards to Australian local news, is often the first by any channel and seven has one of the best news coverage available. The new layout is pretty nice, but i miss seeing hundreds of fans waving their hands or signs through the old, clearer glass. Still, the interactivity at the plaza is to be admired compared to 'today's inanimate indifference.
  • Sunrise has come along way since it began back in what 1999? They have improved by moving their studio to Martin Place in central Sydney. But most of the segment are usual copied or similar to the ones on the opposition station being 9's today show. But they did a great coverage of my local shopping cent-re being burnt down a few months ago (Wattle Grove. Ne way yeah they've really improved and got their act together with seven's sunrise. I'm still not 100% convinced with the show but i watch at least half an hour of that and half an hour of today show, so i spread the thing out.

Sevens sunrise is really assisting seven in the breakfast department. Since they axed the old kids breakfast show (Aggro's Cartoon Connection) sevens rating have really caught up with them very soon they will have the breakfast segment ratings aswel as the evening segment with Ian Ross (Former today newsreader on 9)

    Best of luck to them
