A group of Iraq War veterans look to clear their name with the U.S. Military, who suspect the four men of committing a crime for which they were framed.
When John Singleton was originally going to direct the film, he says the original cast included Mel Gibson as Hannibal, Christian Bale as Face, Jim Carrey as Murdock, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as B.A. Baracus.

After the mission briefing of Hannibal Smith in Frankfurt, Frankfurt Central Station is shown. It is not Frankfurt Central Station but Cologne Central Station. On the left the famous Cologne Cathedral is shown. (The Central Station of Frankfurt is a dead-end station with five concourses, located south of the bank quarter.)
The film's theatrical release features two out-of-place scenes after the closing credits, featuring two of the original The A-Team (1983):
