This movie has become a cult classic on TV. I have seen it umpteen times now and still I cannot help laughing when I catch this movie. Govinda makes this not-so-special story into a nice one with his hilarious loud acting. And when I compare Anees Bazmee's other works, only No Entry and Welcome have been better. Mahima Chaudhary pulls out a good performance in one of her last films. Raveena Tandon again makes a good pairing opposite Govinda once again as she has done so many times. The twins in the film add to the fun. The first half of the film is a bit similar to Saajan Chale Sasuraal but has been handled brilliantly by Govinda and the kids. Forget the story, forget the screenplay, just watch this movie for the great comic timing of the lead actors.

This movie marks the return of the long forgotten govinda and also raveena tendon..... This movie revolves around a character named shekhar{govinda} who is a writer and is married to a Punjabi girl{Mahima chaudhary} in his village but there is also a girl who lives in a city and has fallen in love with him....so he is also married to her and from this point of stage the double trouble in life of shekhar begins......there is also a double role played by another person whose matches with shekhar and his name is shersingh and tries to create tensions in shekhar's life............this movie is full of laughter with govinda's power packed performance initially i thought that this movie wont work well as it was not promoted enough but when is saw the movie it changed my expectations and i thought that govinda has not still loosen his comedy act touch even after many years.....this film is 1 damn good and is a yet another creation of anees bazmee after the super blockbuster NO ENTRY............stitch shah also does a few comedy scenes in this film........this flick is a must see for all comedy lovers.... It is an another great representation by anees bazmee after no entry....we hope that govinda would do more comedy films and should clot his past in the present

Anees Bazmee used to write the story/screenplay for DD films and hence he too follows his style So this first half is a poor cousin of SAAJAN CHALE SASURAL, GHARWALI BAHARWALI and second half is a poor cousin of BOL RADHA BOL
The comedy is handled so badly by Anees that it makes PARTNER a classic They are too many chaos, c grade comedy and lot of loud acting and overacting
The film is one of Anees's worst film
Music is substandard
Raveena and Mahima's presence gives away the fact that the film was in the cans for long time as both of them hardly do any films now Even Govinda looks out of shape and is in bad form In fact he mimics Dharam's dialog delivery and gives a fake performance Raveena and Mahima ham too The rest are bad -
spagashe9822 July 2016Yes this is a film which caters only to the masses and too an extent it can be termed as B grade as far as the story, the print or the budget is concerned.Yet,this movie doesn't fail in making you laugh every time you watch it.I would recommend this to people who love masala films and moreover Govinda's comedy. Sandwich is a complete Govinda show but is well supported by Mahima Chaudhary and the two kids.Even Raveena Tandon portrays her role decently. Anees Bazmee films are meant to be crazy.Each director has his own take on humor and even in Sandwich it's pretty much visible that it is an Anees Bazmee kind of a movie and Govinda has taken that humor to a whole new level.Being in almost every frame of the film,Govinda has used it to the fullest making it one of his best entertainers ever. There is also a storyline which the director has kept a track of making it even more hilarious as new plotpoints unfold which creates further trouble in Shekhar's (Govinda) life. So please go and do watch it and I'm sure you would feel totally stress free !

bhaiyooraj28 April 2011It's a Laughter outbreak no matter how many times you watch the movie either in full or just any scene. Govinda is undoubtedly the most capable actor to make anyone of any age...LAUGH to Belly's limit. That doesn't means that other actors are any less, the child actor is equally fantastic and yes Mushtaq Ahmad cannot be missed he deserves some applauds for he puts in the life to even a non significant role which cannot be ignored by any movie lover. Reema Lagoo's acting needs no introduction, I wondered how could she handle a comic role so talent-fully. Raveena & Mahima both make beautiful pair on the silver screen with Govinda. Anant Mahadevan is in his never before performance and he gives a perfect statement at the proper timing. Satish Shah simply did justice to his role. Kiran Kumar & Raj Zutshi are fit as per the script. The only jewel I missed was Satish Kaushik. Had he been in this film, this movie would have been - " A Perfect Comedy".

ravijthapa22 September 2006Another great entertainer, the most versatile all rounder Govinda does it again. The story however is the very familiar one man two wives kind; old wine in a new bottle, but a good one. The ending looks the same as we have seen in so many movies in the 70's and 80's; the old hero-villain "dhisum dhisum" with family backing. Mahima has done a great job, Raveena was kind of OK but the kids were great. There are a few bloopers here and there, but you can live with it. Most Govinda movies donot require a comedy character as he is himself so full of it; his sleek dialogue delivery, expressions and dance moves. Overall I enjoyed watching this movie, a good time pass for one time viewing.

I watched it today after a long time, and found it equally entertaining. Trade mark Govinda movie, with some brilliant dialogues, and trade mark expressions. Mahima Choudhry had acted nicely as Punjabi lady. Normally all Govinda movies have brilliant music/songs with eye catching dance, this movie lacks it though, may be because of budget issue i feel. Raveena acted decently good, but Mahima was better. The kids were cute and acted nicely too. Had this movie been released in early or mid 90's(Govinda's era), it would have been a bit hit like Sajan chale sasuraal/Raja babu/Coolie no1. Forget the story, just enjoy....

I don't know how to describe this movie, but will try my best. This one is hilarious it makes "kis kisko pyaar karoon" look like a total ripoff and a flop. Govinda sir has done a fantastic job playing double and the comedy charisma is non comparable. It's much better than his movie "Partner". Don't read any other reviews as bad reviews by unappreciated people tend to stick and throughout the film one tends to look for negativity until the fun is ruined.
I would love to see a sequel, it should be on the dynamo of living with two wives. It would be a blockbuster!
Sit back, and enjoy. WARNING! Just don't have a full stomach or else you might vomit form the constant laughs.
