I saw this film years and years and years ago and I still remember it. (No simple feat for me) My favorite character was the uncredited mouse, Ed. His approach to method acting was superb. The mouse should have long ago been nominated for an Oscar, but in typical Hollywood fashion his deeply emotional performance was ignored. This little guy really stole the show even though fine performances were given by all the players and the Philadelphioa scenery was beautifully depicted. It was rumored at the time that Ed the Mouse had some creative influence on director DiPersio but that has never been confirmed. This was a truly wonderful film for the then fledgling DiPersio. It would be interesting to see it done again with his more mature eye. Unfortunately, Ed the Mouse has retired.
