Lacey dresses up in her cheerleader outfit at one point in order to show it to Sally. Ironically, Sarah Roemer would go on to play a cheerleader in Fired Up! (2009).

(at around 1 min) Trish, under the influence of The Grudge, hits Bill, her husband in the head several times with a frying pan. In close scenes, the frying pan is a heavier cast iron model. However, when the pan is showing in closeups it's a much lighter non-stick model. While this would be very painful, the pan being as light as a nonstick unit, would have not been fatal as the film portrays it as being.
The Torch Lady in the Columbia Pictures logo gets possessed by Kayako, causing the logo to flicker (during which the film title briefly appears) and go dark.
In the unrated director's cut DVD are various shots included that were missing from the theatrical release, including extended shots of Karen's death in which blood spatters all over Eason and Aubrey, and a longer shot of blood gushing out from Karen's head. Many extra scenes were included in the unrated Directors cut DVD.
