What is the definition of “Star Wars music”? Maybe, to paraphrase Jimmy Carter, you just know it when you hear it.
Most people would answer by pointing to the man who invented and canonized this unique subgenre: John Williams, composer of nine Star Wars films from 1977 to 2019, the original themes for two spinoffs and a district of Disneyland. Williams established an orchestral, operatic musical language, rich with tuneful character themes and draped in classical tradition, a style now so deeply familiar and revered that it is, for many fans, holy scripture.
But as this sprawling galaxy continues to expand, the artists behind every new adventure are questioning what the musical topography should — and can — be.
In the most recent Darwinian leap, a trailer for the second season of Andor was soundtracked with the countrified clang of electric guitar in Steve Earle’s Iraq War protest anthem, “The Revolution Starts Now.

The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that actor Michelle Trachtenberg died from complications related to diabetes mellitus. She was 39.
Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her Manhattan apartment on February 26. Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced her dead. Authorities reported no signs of foul play.
Initially, the medical examiner did not perform an autopsy, citing a request from the family based on religious considerations. In the absence of criminal suspicion, the office allowed the request. A final ruling was made following analysis of laboratory samples, which confirmed the cause of death.
At the time of her death, NBC News reported that Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant. The medical examiner’s statement did not mention that procedure in its ruling.
Trachtenberg began acting professionally in early childhood. Her career started with television commercials and a recurring role as Lily Montgomery on All My Children.

We have a cause of death for former Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl star Michelle Trachtenberg.
Following a review of laboratory test results, it was determined that Trachtenberg died naturally as a result of complications from diabetes mellitus, the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner told Deadline in a statement.
Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her midtown Manhattan apartment February 26. Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. No foul was suspected. She was 39.
The coroner’s office initially said her cause of death would remain undetermined because the family had requested that no autopsy be conducted because of religious reasons. The medical examiner’s office would automatically do an autopsy if foul play or criminality was suspected, but there was none, so the office did not overrule the family’s decision. Following the lab test results, the medical examiner’s office amended the cause of death.

Adult Swim was founded on the tenet of delivering transgressive animated and live-action media to fill the void on Cartoon Network after kids went to sleep. If you were to compile a handful of shows that serve as a pillar of the late night programming block, "Robot Chicken" would undoubtedly be one of them. The stop-motion animated sketch show would present over 11 minutes of pure, unfiltered chaos using action figurines, dolls and an assortment of toys to lampoon all manner of pop culture. Very little was off limits after 11:30pm.
As someone who initially caught the show by accident after staying up late to watch episodes of "Family Guy," it's crazy to see the kind of legacy it's had across 11 seasons. There are a plethora of memorable sketches that have become mainstays of pop culture, such as a gummy bear getting caught in a bear trap, "Beavis and Butthead" joining the "Teen Titans,...

It's something of a miracle that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" veteran Seth Green and Matthew Seinreich's animated TV series "Robot Chicken" is still going as of 2025. The show debuted in 2005, a time when a certain kind of aggressive "shock" humor was in vogue and a Gen-x-focused pop culture obsession was riding high in the American consciousness. Green and Seinreich often made use of toys and pop characters that came into vogue in the 1980s (who remembers the Peculiar Purple Pieman from "Strawberry Shortcake?"), likely hoping to inspire a spark of recognition in a very specific subset of their late-night audience.
That "Robot Chicken" remains popular proves a new generation has become savvy to its sense of humor (either that or 50-year-old men are relentlessly devoted). Of course, if "Family Guy" can play a similar hand for 23 seasons, why can't "Robot Chicken?" Also, why is it called "Robot Chicken?" It's a sketch comedy show,...

Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” may be split into two movies. As a result, the Lionsgate and Universal Pictures International project will likely push its current Oct. 3 release date.
While “Michael” was a major part of last year’s Lionsgate CinemaCon presentation, no footage from the project was shown during this year’s outing. The film, produced by “Bohemian Rhapsody’s” Graham King, wrapped principal photography in May 2024, but John Logan’s script is in the process of being revised in advance of reshoots.
“Michael,” which carries a roughly $155 million budget, stars Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson, who makes his screen debut in the film. Colman Domingo and Nia Long will play family heads Joe and Katherine Jackson, while Miles Teller will play Jackson’s attorney and advisor John Branca. There are a few places where it feels like whatever you're watching is being broadcast directly from an alternate universe — roadside motel televisions, public access channels from towns you've never been to, and Adult Swim after midnight. It's a feeling that anyone who has fallen asleep in the middle of watching "Robot Chicken" only to be startled awake and greeted by the hypnotic surrealism of a show like "Infomercials" knows intimately: where what stares back at you from the TV screen is so bizarre and phantasmagorical that you can't help but answer its call like a sailor drawn to a rock by a siren.
The average viewer likely thinks of Adult Swim as the network behind "Rick and Morty," syndicated reruns of their favorite adult animated series, and culture-shaping oddities like "Space Ghost Coast to Coast," but the real freaks and sickos know that Adult Swim is also the home...

Although he has built a great career in comedy, Seth Green, who co-created adult animated comedy show Robot Chicken, had an initiation into the industry that involves a dark encounter with none other than SNL alum Bill Murray. Green recalled meeting the Ghostbusters legend in the hallways of Studio 8 while doing Saturday Night Live, and it wasn't pretty. Green has talked about this incident in the past, but now he shares that the advice he got afterward was the only thing he needed to go on.

They were made for lovin’ music, too! Evan Stanley (son of Kiss singer-guitarist Paul Stanley) has teamed up with Nick Simmons (son of Kiss singer-bassist Gene Simmons) to record an album’s worth of music together.
Late last year, Evan and Nick posted a video of them singing an acoustic version of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” on Instagram. Now, they’ve taken their musical partnership to the next level.
A few days ago, Evan posted a photo of himself with Nick, captioning it, “One song turned into 10 real quick.” He followed that up with another post of the two performing one of their new tunes alongside singer-guitarist Jacob Bunton, writing, “Wrote this one with our buddy Jacob yesterday.”
Paul Stanley commented on the performance simply with the word, “Magic!!!!,” while Nick’s sister Sophie Simmons wrote, “We Want The Album.”

“Robot Chicken” was not the first stop-motion comedy show to feature commercial toys for sketches, but the show has now lasted longer than anyone involved with it could have ever anticipated. For co-creator Seth Green, the original impetus for what would become “Robot Chicken” was a rather simple desire.
“We didn’t set out to make a show, and especially weren’t intending to make a show that was going to last a long time,” Green told IndieWire ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Adult Swim animated sketch comedy show. “My partner Matt Senreich and I were trying to figure out how to make just animated sketch comedy shorts using toys. I thought that was really fun.” Twenty years later, and “Robot Chicken” is still popular. It has over 200 episodes, has parodied everything from “Sesame Street” and “He-Man” to “Star Wars” and “Pokémon,” and earned two Annie Awards and six Emmys.

Walking Dead spin-off Daryl Dixon focuses on fan favourites Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride) as they trek across a zombie-infested Europe, trying to get back home to the USA. While the first two seasons were set in France, the third season will move matters to England and Spain, and began filming this summer. The French cast is being left behind and a new Spanish supporting cast brought on. One of the people Daryl and Carol will encounter in the British isles is played by English comedy writer and actor Stephen Merchant.
Merchant, who co-created and co-starred in the original British comedy series The Office, was revealed to be part of the cast at the end of September, and posted about his excitement on Instagram. “As a fan of ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon’, I was excited when they asked me to join the Wd universe for season 3. Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan can take that degree from NYU and toss it in the trash. Comedian Margaret Cho just kicked her butt on Celebrity Jeopardy! — and the scrawny ass of Robot Chicken’s Seth Green, besides — and Cho didn’t even need a high school diploma to get the job done.
“It was dumb luck for me because I have no education,” she told Jon Hein on a recent Howard Stern wrap-up show. “I didn’t even finish high school. I don’t even have a Ged so I can’t believe it.”
Give yourself a break, Cho — you’re not the first person to remember random facts despite a lack of formal education. “I’m such an old stoner,” Cho said, explaining everything. “Things will stick in your brain, like whatever remains. And so I’m grateful for that. But I watched 50 hours of Jeopardy! from...

A recent string of aviation accidents has forced Adult Swim to do the unthinkable: They’re censoring Eric André.
The last week of air travel in America was so disastrous that even adult animation felt the aftershocks. Following deadly crashes in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim are scrambling to ensure that their entertainment options aren’t of the “unintentionally macabre” variety as the country searches for answers. But while the White House wages a war on the Faa and all other federal agencies, the most popular programming block for teen-and-adult-focused comedy shows is more worried about the FCC as they scrub certain episodes of hit shows from their upcoming schedule.
As it turns out, a surprisingly high number of upcoming airings on Adult Swim would have featured plane crashes and problematic imagery during this difficult time in aviation. Here is each episode that Adult Swim...

Cartoon Network has a long history of offering just as many huge disappointments as hit shows. While some cartoons like Adventure Time and Clarence were controversial, they developed a strong fanbase and received many positive reviews. On the other hand, some shows failed to impress most viewers due to weak premises, uninteresting plots, and sometimes simply annoying characters.
From the incredibly disappointing Teen Titans Go! reboot to the ridiculous premise of The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, some Cartoon Network shows divided fans. Meanwhile, othersfailed to create even enough interest to entice viewers beyond the first couple of episodes, let alone the first season or two.

Emilia Clarke became uber famous when she was cast in Game of Thrones as the dragon queen Daenerys Targaryen. Emilia accumulated a massive fan base because her character is an icon in the A Song of Ice and Fire universe. At the time when she took on her role, Emilia had only a few minor roles in three projects, but after the success, many wanted to work with her.
Emilia has worked on over 20 projects since then, and while none of them outshone her portrayal as Daenerys, she has proven that she can play various types of characters. With several Marvel projects, a role in the Star Wars universe, and even an appearance as Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genesys, this British Thespian has built a solid career since her Game of Thrones days. The busy actress has six projects in the works, among them An Ideal Wife, a biopic on Oscar Wilde's wife.

Comedian Margaret Cho wowed Celebrity Jeopardy! viewers on Wednesday night (January 22) with two massive Daily Double wagers that lead to a dominant victory. Cho, who was playing for the charity Friendly House, faced off against The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan (playing for Covenant House NY) and Robot Chicken co-creator and voice star Seth Green (playing for the LA Food Bank). The game started off on fairly even footing, with Cho answering 12 clues correctly in the opening round, Green answering 9, and Brosnahan answering 7. This gave Cho a slight lead with $3,500 over Brosnahan’s $1,700 and Green’s $1,600. Things continued steady in Double Jeopardy, though Green had a chance to take a significant lead after betting it all on a Daily Double. Unfortunately for him, it didn’t pay off. Instead, Cho continued to rack up correct answers, maintaining her lead with $8,100 heading into Triple Jeopardy. Meanwhile, Brosnahan followed behind with...

Golden Globes Host Nikki Glaser Reveals Controversial Joker: Folie À Deux Joke She Cut From The Show

Comedian Nikki Glaser has been widely praised for her hosting duties at this past Sunday's Golden Globes.
During her monologue, Glaser took aim at Diddy, Ben Affleck, Ariana Grande, and more, though the jokes - which definitely pushed the boundaries at times - didn't feature the same spiteful undertone as when Ricky Gervais hosted, for example.
Still, the host (who many of you may not realise voiced DC's Cheetah in Robot Chicken a few years ago) did leave a handful of jokes on the cutting room floor which she decided went perhaps a step too far.
Among them was a brutal jab at last October's Joker: Folie à Deux.
Glaser did poke fun at the failed musical on air and asked the audience, "Where is their table? Oh, that’s right, they’re not here." However, a far more controversial version saw her say, "I saw ‘Joker 2’ and, you know,...

An insider at The Hollywood Reporter, who I am suuuuure can be trusted 100%, recently informed the world that actor Zachary Levi was disappointed and “bitter” that he didn’t rise to Chris Evans or The Rock level of stardom after Shazam. Nobody can be sure if these were his true feelings, but to many, the science has been settled, and this is how he feels. So the dude became a Robert F Kennedy Jr. fan, which resulted in a Trump endorsement and running away from… or rather, escaping, LA. He now spends his time on a ranch in Texas, where, apparently, he is going to focus on making faith-based films. So, did they cancel Zachary Levi, or did they set him free?
As an actor, his silliness is always believable, especially when he pretty much plays himself, a lovable man-child who can do action scenes, like in the hilarious show Chuck.

In the earliest episodes of Rick and Morty, nearly all of the action was focused on the two titular leads, but as the seasons have rolled by, Morty’s teenage sister Summer has become a considerable presence on the show in her own right. She’s worked for the devil, become the queen to a bunch of aliens, had an incest baby with her brother and single-handedly killed a group of bad guys trying to “do a Die Hard.”
Spencer Grammer is the woman who has given the teen her voice — as well as helped further hone that voice after all these years. I recently spoke to Grammer about Summer’s most badass moments, how she’s found herself becoming as vulgar as Summer and the lines she knows every Rick and Morty fan wants to hear (they’re also very vulgar).
What drew you to voice acting?
It’s sort of a sad story.

I recently spoke to Grammer about Summer’s most badass moments, how she’s found herself becoming as vulgar as Summer and the lines she knows every Rick and Morty fan wants to hear (they’re also very vulgar).
What drew you to voice acting?
It’s sort of a sad story.

Funko is serving up some nostalgia for Adult Swim fans with its latest line of figures. The late 1990s into the 2000s were a great time for the Cartoon Network block with the introduction of classic shows like Robot Chicken and Space Ghost Coast to Coast that would define the brand while Toonami introduced some of Japan's best anime series like Dragon Ball and Voltron. All four are now set to receive new collectibles as part of a new set alongside a Cartoon Network favorite that would eventually become part of the Adult Swim family - Samurai Jack. Chicken, Space Ghost, Goku, Voltron, and Mad Jack are now available to pre-order from Entertainment Earth or Amazon and are estimated to arrive in January.

“The Book of Life” writer/director/animator/actor Jorge Gutierrez is putting his spin on the opening to this Sunday’s annual “Treehouse of Horror” edition of “The Simpsons.” Gutierrez and composer Juan Carlos Enriquez have put together an intro/couch gag to “Treehouse of Horror Xxxv” (or in this case “El Treehouse del Horror Xxxv”) that includes a version of the Jarabe Tapatío with Día de los Muertos and lucha libre-style imagery. The opening, features stylized versions of Bart Simpson and Otto rocking out, Marge and Lisa taking down Jailbird, Bart facing off with Krusty the Clown, a Maggie-operated Homer going after a Smithers-led Burns and Bumblebee Man smashing Sideshow Bob (as Comic Book Guy wears a T-shirt that proclaims “Worst Intro Ever”).
