Pregnant sixteen year old Jacey's well-meaning mother forces her to keep the birth a secret and decides to raise the baby as her own.
In order to keep the film as realistic and current and possible, most of the discussions in the health class discussion scenes was improvised by the actors. Jane Krakowski would simply name a topic and the young actors would answer honestly.
And now you're the screwed up and I'm the good kid. I'm the one who they can point to and say "This is our good child. She only gets B's and C's, but she's the one who didn't get pregnant".
Jacey Jeffries: Shut up!
When Jacey is playing the DVD that Macey gave to her, it says "For Charlie" on the DVD, but on the opening scene of the video it says "For Charley." The movie credits say that the baby's name is spelled Charley, meaning the name on the DVD is spelled wrong.
