The Dragon Warrior has to clash against the savage Tai Lung as China's fate hangs in the balance. However, the Dragon Warrior mantle is supposedly mistaken to be bestowed upon an obese panda who is a novice in martial arts.
Michael Clarke Duncan's third theatrically released fully animated film after Brother Bear (2003) and Dinotopia: Quest for the Ruby Sunstone (2005), as well as his only computer animated one and only one to be rated PG. It's also his last before his death in 2012.
Legend tells of a legendary warrior whose kung fu skills were the stuff of legend.
(at around 14 mins) Po gets dirty when when he lands in the arena, but after he is selected as the Dragon Warrior, he is clean again.
After all credits roll, Po and Shifu are seen sharing a meal while the peach seed Oogway planted earlier is shown to have sprouted.
While originally only a 2D release during its 2008 theatrical run, Dreamworks Animation later produced a 3D version. This version was released on Blu-ray in 2011 to coincide with the home video release of Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011).
