The Dragon Warrior has to clash against the savage Tai Lung as China's fate hangs in the balance. However, the Dragon Warrior mantle is supposedly mistaken to be bestowed upon an obese panda who is a novice in martial arts.
Though Commander Vachir says that Chor Ghom Prison has one thousand guards, when Tai Lung escapes, he fights against far less than one thousand, even if not all of his escape was shown on-screen.
Legend tells of a legendary warrior whose kung fu skills were the stuff of legend.
(at around 21 mins) After Po accidentally breaks the Urn of Whispering Warriors, the pieces move around on the floor.
The opening and closing credits are carried out in stylized 2D animation, meant to resemble Chinese shadow puppetry.
While originally only a 2D release during its 2008 theatrical run, Dreamworks Animation later produced a 3D version. This version was released on Blu-ray in 2011 to coincide with the home video release of Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011).
