Ki & Ka has taken a good opening at the Box Office. As was predicted, the film was on track to register 40%-50% occupancy on Day One, and this is how the average footfalls turned out to be eventually. The film has collected 7.3 crore on Friday and this is a good start for the Eros and Balki production, considering the genre, release size and target audience that it was aiming for.
This is the biggest opener ever for Balki as Ki & Ka [7.3 crore] on its opening day has collected more than double of Shamitabh [3.5 crore] and is far ahead of Paa [2.15 crore] and Cheeni Kum [which had lifetime total of 17.3 crore]. The film has also taken a bigger opening than a much massy Ghayal Once Again [7.2 crore] and targeted-at-similar-audience Kapoor & Sons [6.85 crore]. The way word of mouth is spreading for the film, the film is set to have the second highest weekend of the year.

Mumbai, Sep 9: Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi, who has worked with Shahid Kapoor for the first time in "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero", says this film will be a huge new break for him.
Shahid, who has been a part of films like "Ishq Vishk", "Vivah", "Jab We Met", "Kaminey", has been lying low at the box office courtesy movies like "Milenge Milenge", "Mausam" and "Teri Meri Kahaani". But Santoshi believes "Phata Poster..." will be his new success.
"Unfortunately, his previous films may not have worked, but he is a wonderful actor and he is very hardworking. He has done a good job in the film. I think this will be Shahid's.

"Exhausted, happy and confused…" That's how Boney Kapoor describes his state of mind at the moment. While the exhaustion and the happiness are understandable, considering his better-half Sridevi's triumphant return to the marquee with English Vinglish, the confusion comes from question that now plagues the producer.
What next? That's the questions which haunts Boney.
Says a source close to the producer, "Boney has not produced a film since Wanted in 2009. True, Milenge Milenge came a year later. But that was almost completed before Wanted. Since then Boney got busy with setting his production company's finances in order. When that was sorted, his wife Sridevi's comeback film English Vinglish began shooting. Boney was with her throughout its shooting in New York and then while she promoted the film, Boney was by her side. 'Milenge Milenge' (2010)
Starring Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor
'Milenge Milenge,' a remake of the Hollywood film 'Serendipity' (2001), struggled to make it to the big screen. It was shot in 2004 and was supposed to be released in 2005, but because of financial and post-production holdups (including the unavailability of the lead pair, whose careers were taking off and who ended their romantic relationship in 2007), the film was stuck in the can for five years. By the time it released in 2010, it was a hopelessly dated picture.
Had it come out on schedule, it might have been a mediocre entertainer and a harmless blip in the filmography of its stars, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. They've both certainly made worse films, including together. But Bollywood has moved on from movies like 'Milenge Milenge'—and so have the actors in question. It's impossible to view the film without this perspective.

July 20, 2010: Ok, so the makers of ‘Milenge Milenge’ have led everyone to believe that their film is a success. While some may argue that how a film that nets just a little over 10 crores in its first week could be termed as a success in today’s time, especially since it stars top players like Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, producer Boney Kapoor has a strong reasoning. After all, the film was made on a medium budget half a decade back and even if one counted the interest, the Roi (return on investment) has been gladdening.
No, this doesn’t by any means indicate that.

This past Friday, the Shahid and Kareena starrer Milenge Milenge, finally hit theaters after a six year wait. It is the latest in a long line of films to be seen on screen after an extended delay. It was only down to hard work and persistence from producer Boney Kapoor that this stuck film made it to the final hurdle, way after its scheduled 23 December 2005 release.
Shooting began on Milenge Milenge when the stars were still a couple. Since then, Kareena has of course gone on to become one half of the Saifeena jodi, while Shahid has been linked with Vidya, Priyanka, Genelia and whichever heroine he happens to be co-starring with at the time. And to think Shahid and Kareena's last film Jab We Met is universally regarded as their best performance, filmed as the couple were heading towards serious splitsville. (Nimród Antal, 2010, Us) Adrien Brody, Alice Braga, Topher Grace, Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo. 107 mins.
Twenty-three years and three sequels after the original, the sub-Alien sci-fi movie at last gets a proper follow-up, and even if Brody barely has the bulk to fill one of Schwarzenegger's combat boots, this serves up the semi-guilty action pleasures you'd demand. Brody is one of a gang of random human badasses who wind up in a strange jungle and realise they're now training material for apprentice alien badasses. So who will survive to be the, er, worst ass?
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (12A)
(David Slade, 2010, Us) Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner. 124 mins.
Another teen-conquering exercise in sexless erotica, but at least there's an actual film around it this time. A new vampire threat and Bella's love triangle won't be enough to entice newcomers, but fans will enjoy the unconsummated fantasy thrills they crave.

Film: ‘Milenge Milenge’; Starring: Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor; Directed by: Satish Kaushik; Rating: **
There is a kind of subverted joy in watching Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor play a Valentinian romance with a full-throttle gusto.
‘Milenge Milenge’ took its time to come to the theatres. Yes, it is old fashioned in theme. But not dated. The material which must have been quite bulky by the time Kaushik was done with shooting has been cut and pasted with restrained enthusiasm. What we have is a paper-thin, sometimes cute at times.

Movie Review: Milenge Milenge; Star cast: Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Aarti Chabbria, Satish Shah and Delnaz Paul; Director: Satish Kaushik; Rating: *1/2 – Boring.
Milenge Milenge is a poor rehash of John Cussack – Kate Beckinsale starrer romantic comedy Serendipity (2001) that was about destiny bringing two lovers back together. But perhaps makers Boney Kapoor and Satish Kaushik were not as lucky to quickly encash on its success as their copy took a good seven years to come on screen. In the meanwhile a small film starring TV actor Sarwar Ahuja and veteran.

One feels that the makers of the long delayed Milenge Milenge should have released the film just after 10-15 days of its first promo and not waited any further, to reap t...

July 8, 2010: Milenge Milenge, the much delayed movie of Boney Kapoor, has brought a smile to his face as the satellite rights of the film have fetched Rs 8.6 crore.
It is definitely good news for the producer, who had been facing a lot of problems regarding the film. Boney signed the lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor for the film in 2004, when Shahid was only four films old.
But both the actors are non-cooperative now when the film is about to release in a few days. After a delay of six years, the actors should have shown a minimum courtesy to help the producer recover whatever he can. For.

July 8, 2010: Today, if a new film starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor would have been announced, it would have made a huge noise for sure. However, that is missing in case of ‘Milenge Milenge’ because the stars themselves are not quite leading from the front for the film’s promotion. Shahid Kapoor is in UK shooting for ‘Mausam’ while Kareena Kapoor is off to Morocco to complete a quick schedule for ‘Agent Vinod’. Incidentally, both these films are their home productions.
With no stars available for the film’s promotion, it has indeed been quite some effort.

Producer Boney Kapoor seems to have got too busy parading that his lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are .back together., much to the actress.s disapproval of course. Boney.s plans to promote his film would have been in trouble had Himesh Reshammiya not stepped in.Shahid and Kareena happen to be (this was not planned) out of country right now, shooting for Mausam and Agent Vinod respectively. Milenge Milenge is due for release come Friday and none of the actors are available for promoting the film. And Boney obviously hadn.t seen this coming. Not left with an option, he has now got the music director of this film Himesh Reshammiya onboard, to promote the film.Boney says, .Both my actors are out of the country shooting for their films. Himesh alone is not promoting my film.Everyone in the film is; self included. Director Satish Kaushik,...

Satish Kaushik’s Milenge Milenge may have been delayed by six years but the director is still confident of the movie’s potential at the box office. It was filmed when Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor were dating. Now that they have drifted apart, buzz is that the duo aren’t interested in promoting the film. Kaushik denies this: “The release date has been finally fixed and can’t be pushed forward. Shahid and Kareena are committed to other films so they can’t be around. But all the actors are supporting the film.”Kaushik laughs off rumours that Kareena is upset with ...

Shrek Forever After (U)
(Mike Mitchell, 2010, Us)
Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy. 93 mins.
Like us, Shrek yearns for the good old days here, and – somewhat tellingly – the premise finds the green ogre trying to regain his former fearsome edge. Instead, he gets tricked into an alternate reality where he basically has to re-enact the first film all over again. In some ways, such familiarity is a strength as much as a weakness, and it's nice to see these characters again. Compared to the Toy Story trilogy, though, Shrek is merely The Flintstones to Pixar's Simpsons; fun enough, but really no match.
White Material (15)
(Claire Denis, 2009, Fra/Cam)
Isabelle Huppert, Christopher Lambert, Isaach De Bankolé. 106 mins.
After the touchy-feely 35 Shots Of Rum, Denis switches to stronger medicine with a sparse evocation of wartorn west Africa. Huppert is a defiant colonial matriarch striving to keep her family and plantation together.

In all likelihood, Milenge Milenge is Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor’s last film together. Despite that, filmmaker Boney Kapoor’s attempts to get the two actors to promote his movie have gone in vain. The film went on the floors in 2004, when Shahid and Kareena were still seeing each other, and is finally set for a July 9 release. But, Boney has only himself and director Satish Kaushik for company to promote his film.“Shahid is busy shooting in Scotland, so he will not be able to come. Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapur’s Milenge Milenge may be on the brink of release after eons, but Bebo is not a happy camper. The promos which scream that “They Are Back Together” has been causing a number of people including audience members to believe that the ex-couple are back together, which they are not. This indirect or rather, direct slogan has Kareena upset since she took out time from her schedule to complete the films dubbing and shoot a completely new photo shoot so that the film would look fresh and young.
The film was stuck for several years and producer Boney Kapoor, was more than keen to release the remake of the Hollywood hit Serendipity. According to sources, Kareena blames the producer for this mix up. "Kareena told a couple of friends that it was not fair that despite helping Boney complete the film and facilitating its release,...

Kareena Kapoor might have agreed to do a fresh photoshoot for the film, but she is upset over the promos of Milenge Milenge that state 'They are back together', suggesting that the duo have patched up. Before Boney decided to release the film, Kareena had to help him by completing the leftover dubbing. She also did a photo shoot for the promotion of the film so it does not look dated."
