Having been off-screen since at least July 2023, “General Hospital” actor Réal Andrews recently took to Instagram to share an update on his status at the daytime drama series, informing fans that it’s up to them as to whether the show will bring him back as Marcus Taggert.
When viewers last saw Taggert, he was on a downward spiral after learning that the daughter he believed to be his was, in fact, someone else’s through a separate relationship Portia (Brook Kerr) had with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Despite Trina (Tabyana Ali) going through the most in the months since Taggert last appeared on-screen, including the presumed death of her first love, Spencer (Nicholas Chavez), one would think it was time for the character to make his return to the canvas, and possibly play out yet another twist of parental lineage.

Actor Michael Douglas still remains a top Hollywood A-lister even after his decades’ worth of work in the film industry. But there was one film where the Oscar-winner remembered he started to feel his age.
Michael Douglas couldn’t keep up with his younger co-stars in ‘The Sentinel’ Michael Douglas | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
The Sentinel was a 2006 thriller where Douglas played a secret service agent accused of trying to assassinate the President. He worked alongside 24 star Kiefer Sutherland and Eva Longoria on the project, and was drawn to the movie after a three-year hiatus from filming .Douglas, admitted, however, that he felt a bit out of place when working alongside his younger co-stars. In a couple of scenes, Douglas also had a difficult time physically keeping up with Sutherland.

We’ve talked about Stephen King as the king of horror literature, but there’s another name who is pretty important in the grand scheme of horror. He has had tabletop games, video games, comic book adaptations, and movies made after his work. He has sort of become like John Carpenter in a way. You hear all the time how a movie, or its score in particular, is Carpenter-esque and that has happened to one Howard Phillips Lovecraft. He only lived to 46 and had many works published after his death, but also is the man behind the old gods and the Cthulhu mythos. Even when filmmakers and game designers don’t use creations directly from the author’s work, a lot of horror can be considered Lovecraftian. While some of the more famous ones like Re-Animator and From Beyond are stone cold classics, I wanted to look at an underseen adaptation.

Vincent (Karim Leklou) is the kind of man who is so unremarkable that middle age seems destined to render him invisible. He posts sad selfies that make you wonder if he’s ever seen a photograph before. He cracks weird little “jokes” about how the intern at work is late with his coffee, despite being reminded that the intern doesn’t do coffee runs. His girlfriend recently dumped him. The man radiates such a pathetic energy that you just want to give him a hug — or perhaps a book of Civil War trivia to occupy his lonely nights.
So why, then, does everyone who sees him try to kill him? It’s a very good question that “Vincent Must Die” never has to answer.
From the moment we meet Vincent, quite a few people appear to agree that he must die. Everyone from new interns to longtime colleagues and total...

Recently split from his co-worker girlfriend, Vincent (Karim Leklou) is having a bad day at the office. First, a young intern batters him over the head with a laptop, and then Yves from accounting stabs him savagely with a pen. And after a meeting with human resources, the poor guy is left with the curious feeling that, somehow, he deserved it. Even his shrink, who has a print of J.M.W. Turner’s ironic masterpiece “The Fighting Temeraire” on his wall, thinks so, planting further seeds of doubt in Vincent’s mind. “I think you’re looking for attention from those who attack you,” he decides.
Vincent’s “crime” is to make eye contact, and after a further series of interactions — notably with a middle-aged female motorist, who tries to run him down, and, crucially, his upstairs neighbor’s young children — Vincent drops everything and heads to his family’s country home.

Believe it or not, it is now 50 years since ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ was first released in movie theaters. Directed by Stanley Kubrick, this masterpiece was an adaptation of the short story ‘The Sentinel’ by Arthur C. Clarke. Many people consider this film as one of the greatest movies of all time. Although younger generations may not have heard of this film, they will now have the opportunity to see it for themselves. Warner Bros. is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the film by releasing it for a second time on May 18. Via ‘The Wrap’, 70 mm version

Rock Hudson walked out of the premiere, Hal was originally a cockney, and Stanley Kubrick used one of the model spaceships to pay his daughter’s tutor … the makers of the sci-fi classic share their memories
One day in the early 1960s, I had my palm read at a funfair. The palmist saw a rocket ship in my future. Then my agent called and said I’d been offered the lead in Stanley Kubrick’s next film. When I started reading the script, something felt terribly familiar. As a teenager, I had read The Sentinel, a short story by Arthur C Clarke – and that was the starting point for Kubrick’s film.

“We made the show, but you fans made it worthwhile.” Last night, Wgn America’s Salem came to an end after three seasons, and to thank the diehard fans of the show, series creators Adam Simon and Brannon Braga share their heartfelt thoughts in a new video made especially for the Heathens.
“The third season of “Salem” dawns with the triumph of the witches’ plan to remake the New World by bringing the devil to earth and making Salem his capital. But the devil is a liar, and instead of a New World free from murderous Puritan hypocrisy, his own plan will bring nothing but death and slavery with the ultimate aim of leading humanity to destroy itself. And there’s only one person on earth who can beat the devil — the very witch that birthed him, his mother, Mary Sibley. The only problem is—she’s dead. Or is she?...

Being resurrected from the dead is traumatic enough, but imagine being told upon your return to this world that your own son is doomed to destroy it. The recent installment of Salem Season 3 featured a tough and terrifying task for Mary, and in a new video, series creator / executive producer Adam Simon discusses the key scenes of the show's latest episode.

"This is kung fu. It's not a game. It is not a religion. It's about who lives, and who dies."
If you're a fan of Bruce Lee and martial arts, you've gotta watch this new trailer for the upcoming film Birth of the Dragon. The story revolves around Lee and his legendary fight against Kung Fu master Wong Jack Man, who doesn't like what Lee is doing with the art of Kung Fu. A lot of the story is shown in the trailer. This looks like a fantastic film, and I'm excited about watching it.
Birth of the Dragon was directed by George Nolfi, director of The Adjustment Bureau, and writer of films such as Ocean's Twelve, The Sentinel, and The Bourne Ultimatum. I like the tone of the film, and the guy they got to play Bruce Lee — Philip Ng — is great!

The symbolism and spectacle of this 1968 masterpiece remain a thrill today
Stanley Kubrick’s epochal sci-fi epic returns to the big screen as part of the BFI’s Days of Fear and Wonder series, and after all these years it remains a trip well worth making. Expanding on Arthur C Clarke’s short story The Sentinel, this leaps from the dawn of mankind to the space-age (via one of cinema’s most striking editing juxtapositions) and beyond, transporting viewers from the world of science into a stargate full of symbolism and spectacle. Throughout, the human cast remain strangely faceless, playing second fiddle to the music of the cosmos (from Strauss to Ligeti) and the voice of Douglas Rain who brings depth and pathos (“Daisy, Daisy…”) to the role of the computer Hal 9000, the film’s most unexpectedly sympathetic character. It’s an overpowering experience, awe-inspiringly photographed by Geoffrey Unsworth, groundbreakingly enhanced by Douglas Trumbull.

Warning: You could be framed for something you didn't do at any given moment. Maybe even by your own government, whether intentionally or due to a misunderstanding. Will you know what to do if this happens? If not, Hollywood might be able to help, as “wrong man” scenarios have been around about as long as movies have existed, and a lot of them have involved conspiracies within government agencies. In “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” an enemy of the Joes', Zartan, has secretly taken over the White House disguised as the President of the United States. As Potus, he labels the Joes traitors and unleashes a military strike that wipes out almost the entire team. The survivors must then go up against Cobra while being at the top of America's Most Wanted list. Fortunately, Joes are trained for survival, and in this case knowing is even more than half the battle. So,...

I was going to kick off by saying “It’s been some time since Kim Basinger really graced our screens” — but that’s technically not true. While she hasn’t made an onscreen appearance in about two years — itself not such a long time — it was in the relatively successful Charlie St. Cloud, and that only came a few years after parts in The Informers, The Burning Plain, and The Sentinel. Even if you didn’t see those, there’s a fair chance you’ve heard of them. Shouldn’t that count for something?
And although I can’t say if One Square Mile might some kind of reintroduction into mainstream cinema, the actual film doesn’t sound half-bad. Richard Jenkins was, back in April, signed to lead the film, a drama about the important lessons an older man instills into a young boy (Kelly Blatz). George Nolfi, whose credits as writer include The Sentinel and The Bourne Ultimatum, is attached to helm Fox 2000 drama One Midnight to Midnight.
Nolfi, who made his directorial debut with last year’s underrated The Adjustment Bureau, will rewrite and direct the in-development adaptation of Michael Dobbs’ novel One Minute to Midnight: Kennedy, Khrushchev and Castro on the Brink of Nuclear War.
One Minute to Midnight will centre on the Cuban Missile Crisis and, more specifically, the thirteen days which brought the world closer to the brink of nuclear war than it had ever been before – or since.
Robert S. Edwards was responsible for the previous draft, which Nolfi will retouch before entering into production.
Nolfi acted as script supervisor on the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer The Last Stand, due to be released next year.

Fortune smiles upon a handful of actors who appear to be joining director Clark Johnson.s dark indie comedy, Fortune. Kim Basinger, Heather Graham, Catherine O'Hara and Jason Patric are in .final negotiations,. according to Variety, to headline Johnson.s Las Vegas-set film, which finds a small-time thief and two broke sisters whose fates collide in the superficial gambling Mecca. Fortune will work off of a screenplay by Nancy Fichman and Jennifer Hoppe. Production reportedly will begin later this summer in Canada. Attaching Johnson seems to suggest that Fortune will have more action than conversation. A longtime character actor (who was so brilliant on The Wire), Johnson helmed two feature films in S.W.A.T. and The Sentinel, as well as multiple episodes of crime-based television series as The Shield, NYPD Blue and Homicide: Life on the Street. Dick (short story “Adjustment Team”) Starring: Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, John Slattery, Anthony Mackie Born out of society’s ceaseless determination to find meaning in our miserable existence, The Adjustment Bureau is a universe constructed of doors that lead in and out of the hereafter, shuffling angels dressed as extras for Mad Men to their next assignment. It’s a world that has turned God on its head, where the pseudo-religious can exist in harmonious bliss, knowing that their every move is being guided this way and that in order to bring balance to a seemingly random process. David Norris (Matt Damon) is our hero, a man destined for greatness, but only if it is written. Elise (Emily Blunt) is the beguiling brunette that seems to keep bumping into Norris. The concept of fate in cinema is one that.s been around for ages, even longer if you consider it.s prevalence in literature and longer yet when you consider that storytelling itself is nearly as old as the conscious man himself. So, this raises the question of how one makes a film about fate that.s not been done before, or more precisely. how to do it well?
Writer and first-time director George Nolfi had his head in the right place with The Adjustment Bureau, given that it all began with Philip K. Dick. The film is adapted from Dick.s short story called “Adjustment Team” and carries the trademark science-fiction fingerprint of the late, beloved genre author. The film toys playfully with the idea of there being a creator, or more accurately a controller in this case, and a special breed of beings tasked with enforcing that creator.s plans.
