Cardiff City beat bitter South Wales rivals Swansea in the two sides’ first top flight meeting. Steven Caulker headed home a corner to settle it.
Who impressed us in the WhatCulture office? Here are out player ratings.
Cardiff
David Marshall: Saved from Michu and an offside Bony. Not a great deal to do, but what the Scottish stopper did was decent enough. 6/10.
Kevin Theophile-Catherine: Crosses blocked time and again. A baffling summer signing, but physical enough to limit little Routledge from getting forward. 5/10.
Steven Caulker: Good set piece threat from the former Spurs and Swansea man. Got on the end of Bellamy corner to score. Great defending to deny Bony thereafter. A towering presence in both areas. Our man of the match. 7/10.
Ben Turner: A good partner for Caulker. Forced Michu and Bony to go deep in search of the ball. Overshadowed by his fellow centre half though.

Former Swansea loan player Steven Caulker settled the South Wales derby in Cardiff City’s favour as the capital club pulled themselves four points clear of relegation danger.
Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay picked Craig Bellamy and faithful retainer Don Cowie in his XI as Korean player Kim and forward Fraizer Campbell dropped out. Otherwise this was the same team that started the goalless draw at Norwich.
Swans manager Michael Laudrup meanwhile had Jonjo Shelvey back in place of Alvaro Vazquez in the only alteration to his side from the home draw with West Ham.
Michu snatched at a shot when a Shelvey centre found him inside five minutes for the visitors and fired wide. Swansea took the game to their hosts in customary passing fashion. Michu worked David Marshall with Shelvey again the source of supply though this time in the centre.
