After being wrongfully imprisoned for thirteen years and having her child taken away from her, a woman seeks revenge through increasingly cruel and brutal means.
The snow at the ending is not real. They brought two trucks of salt, scattered it all over the street and finally adjusted the scene using computer graphics.

Towards the end of the film, when Geum-ja Lee is cutting Mr. Baek's hair on the floor, the bandage on her finger slips showing the part of her finger where she cut it and, presumably, where it was sewn back on. There is no scar.
