After being wrongfully imprisoned for thirteen years and having her child taken away from her, a woman seeks revenge through increasingly cruel and brutal means.
The bakery that Geumja works in is called "Naruse", which is the name of the Japanese director Mikio Naruse.

Towards the end of the film, when Geum-ja Lee is cutting Mr. Baek's hair on the floor, the bandage on her finger slips showing the part of her finger where she cut it and, presumably, where it was sewn back on. There is no scar.
