Half a reel is practically lost before the story begins
A two-reel offering of the romantic type, with Warren Kerrigan and Vivian Rich in the leads. The Coronation March was so solemn that we mistook it for a funeral. This sort of picture should start off with something very definitely understood by the observer, otherwise, as in this case, half a reel is practically lost before the story begins. The later scenes work up considerable animation and the misadventures of the young king were interesting. The closing scenes, in which the infant king is restored to his throne, were the best in the film. - The Moving Picture World, September 13, 1913
