Persis Khambhatta was to be a part of this movie when it was planned in 1985. For unknown reasons, she was dropped from the project. This upset her a lot because she always use to speak proudly about her religion and community in interviews abroad. The producers had spoken to her and had taken several books from her about the subject. When they decided to start the movie with out her, she blasted them in the media. She stated that Zubin Mehta was actually mistaken for being Jewish, and not Parsee in America. This was something Mehta never tried to correct. So having him in the project was very unusual and wrong.
