Based on the John Keats poem of the same name, this adaptation tells the story of a knight who encounters a mysterious lady and falls in love with her, but becomes paralyzed when her true form horrifies him.
The visuals are haunting and the story holds true. Few films recreate great poetry in such a way. The best way to recreate a poem of such beauty such excellence is to simply talk about it and repeat the message created from its original beauty. However that being said this film manages to capture the essence of the poem in a gorgeous way. Having studied John Keats completely I can easily say that this film would of entertained him. He died a young man and watching this would have tickled him pink. The film manages to capture the spirit of his poetry in a way that is hard to do visually. The sets are great, the actors are chosen well, and the film is absolutely beautiful. It feels like La belle dame sans merci. Worth watching and sharing!
