  • Okay,

I just viewed "Exit" at the First Run Film Festival at NYU. First, let me say that the directing was pretty good, and the actual film was entertaining, but.... I don't think the movie was anything special. It was one of the more professional ones at the festival, but it also felt like some early 90's made for TV movie. I have no doubt this new upcoming director will earn a living in the entertainment business, it just might be in television. Having said that, for such a new director the film was done skillfully.

Overall, not in context of who made it:6/10 In context with other directors his age: 7.9/10
  • Okay,

    Here's the scoop...

For those who don't know, EXIT won the Best Directing Platinum Remi Award at WorldFest, Houston Int'l Film Festival.

I was fortunate enough to screen it and I must say that it is a great start for director Jamie Duneier. EXIT has all the attributes of an award winning short. If the first shot of footsteps pacing through the city doesn't hook you right away, then the pan up to who's feet they are will!

I eagerly anticipate his next film.
  • An NYU graduate, Duneier picked up the Best Director Award at Houston Fest ... The story of a star burlesque nightclub performer trying to leave her old life behind … EXIT was admirably slick technically ... But more importantly it made you care about the characters ... It gave you some mysteries to figure out after it was over .. As Hemingway said, the best writing just shows the tip of the iceberg .... You can tell a whole feature could be expanded out of the myriad characters and their dramas going on at this night club ... Duneier coaxes some great performances out of his actors ... On all fronts he's a talent to watch out for ... I look forward to his next project ... Check out EXIT!
