This film is my first experience with Telugu film and I must say I was positively surprised. I was happy to know that the quality of the cinematography was just as good as the best main stream Hindi films. The colors, landscape and costumes were magnificent and the singing and dancing as well. This film has a mixture of traditional plot line, new up-coming stars (without the mustache:-) along with modern music mixed with traditional great Telugu rhythm. Having spent time in Andrah Pradesh, it was great fun to see the state on the big screen. However, do not expect the unexpected. This Telugu film is much like the main stream Hindi films;we know the story and we know the ending, but how it will be visualized in this particular film is the thrill. If you like Hindi film, then you will like this Telugu hit!
  • Yes, I know its clichéd. The director knows its clichéd. The actors know its clichéd. The writer specifically crafted it so that it will be clichéd. Ultimately, even the audience knows it has seen all of these elements before albeit pieced together differently. This story has elements of Taal, which we see when hero jumps into fire for an object of sentimental value and Pyar Kiyatho Darna Kya (or so I hear). Watching this movie you can't help but feel, I know this story..I've watched it a hundred times before. Yet, you can't help but watch it. If you are anything like me, you do not watch an Indian movie for its novelty or acting. You watch it because its almost a force of habit. So then, the real drawing factor becomes direction. Director Prabhu Deva keeps the story moving along quite nicely, though somewhat slow at times, and keeps it very simple. To the point where you know whats going to happen next. Yet, you can't help but feel warm for the character's experiences and can't help but laugh along with the jokes. The set design as well, though never going over board, is simple enough, yet laden with such lush, rich and vibrant colors. It captures the essence of Andhra life and you almost feel like you can feel it pour into you. What happens in the story..well not much. Santosh (Siddartha) comes from England with his mom to visit a relative's wedding and there he falls for Siri(Trisha). Siri and Santosh fall in love but there is another family eying to make Santosh their own. J.P.(Jaya Prakash Reddy)and his daughter(can't remember her character's name-Nandita) are eying Santosh (or rather..his money). They humiliate Siri and her brother Sivarama Krishna (Srihari). Santosh goes and asks for forgiveness and Siri's hand in marriage and Sivarama Krishna, after being persuaded by the Station Master (Parchuri Venkateshwara Rao) gives Santosh a chance saying that he must grow, on 1 acre of land, 1 more sack of crop than all of his fields. There are also other elements in the village looking to make Siri their own. They try to sabotage Santosh, but do they succeed? If you've got a girl that you want to cuddle up to or you are feeling blue and want to just feel good, this is definitely a film you should look into.
  • Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana is extremely enticing and cute. It is fascinating simply because although it has a simple plot, the movie carries so much essence and passion. Siri (Trisha Krishnan) is a bubbly and feisty young girl from a simple rural area in India who gets allured by the rich, short, but charming NRI: Santosh (Siddharth) whom she meets at her friends' wedding. What unfolds is a conventional plot with the hero fulfilling the impossible but brave task to win the girl's hand and a somewhat twist of an ending which wittily connects to the beginning of the movie. Overall, it is a must-see thelugu masterpiece; a timeless love comedy.

The acting is Cringe admit it the way Hero comes to their house starts acting really cringe and how tf did he eat a fire that's really cringe and I do not find it funny but the story is overall good the acting really makes me cringe there are plenty of cringe scenes wher he gets stuck in bathroom and suddenly starts singing with the dog I cringed at that scence pothe story is good but acting is cringe and I'm giving this movie 10 stars ratings cause how much cringe this movie is One of bst evergreen movie. Watched its remake in 3 other languages.. Kannada n Hindi bt this original is masterpiece no remake can beat this... Siddharth, trisha, srihari top class acting.. BTW I'm from mangalore I enjoyed Telugu version more then kannada version... Jst love this watched almost 5 times.
  • This movie is Trisha all the way, starting from the simple, reserved, playful girl who finds the antics of London returned boy not impressive, to slowly drawn into love and then holding on to that commitment with quiet strength and resolve, one pretty much follows her, loving, hoping and crying with her. Time and again we need to be reminded of the glory called love and the courage that it requires and fire that it has to go through. One wonders what emotional toll these movies take on the actors themselves. Trisha is obviously a good classical dancer, Prabhu Deva being an outstanding dancer himself, the dances were choreographed well and were funny too. The most beautiful parts were in the second half of the movie, set in rural settings, where Trisha watches as her man struggle to pass the test and grow in the process, she quietly supporting by eating the same simple food that he ate and sleeping on the floor. Love is not an oft-repeated theme, its a reminder, of a courage that most of us never had. Prabhu Deva is a talented person, far deeper than he looks. Thanks for bringing out such a nice and uplifting movie.
  • Trisha and siddharth are just excellent.. Sri hari sir excelled in his role..
