  • I watched this having not seen the original I am unable to compare them. But for a straight to video Disney sequel the standard I did not find to be that bad. It was reasonably well animated and had a descent cast (I am not sure how many of them where in the original). It is a typical children's movie theme of morality but an unusual story to put the message across. We have the often mined theme of a parentless child finding friendship with another being (in this case Lilo with Stitch), but an unusual story to show it where Stitch has a glitch in his molecular make-up that is threatening to turn him evil. The admittedly short movie moves along at a good pace all coming to the inevitable conclusion but in a pleasant enough way. I enjoyed it and would certainly watch it again, but it would be better watched with children.
  • The original "Lilo and Stitch" was a wonderfully offbeat tale that took me by surprise (and even drove me to tears at the end!); the movie's take on the relationship between motherless Lilo (voiced by Dakota Fanning) and an accidental extraterrestrial visitor named Stitch was surprisingly compelling. This sequel is lighter, less spectacular fare--cute, not overly deep--but still entertaining. The story has Lilo entering a Hula competition...just as Stitch's circuits are beginning to go haywire, leading to a fair share of comic mischief and an ending that, once again, almost made me cry (for this, I give the movie an additional star).

When I first heard of this movie I first thought, "Oh no not a crappy sequel to STITCH! The Movie!" But then I checked out the preview for the film and I was surprised. The animators for the original Lilo & Stitch were using the same technique as before and this took place after the first movie and before the TV series. The night of release came out and I rented it. The film was definitely a sequel to the original, it had the same charm, the same cast (except for Dakota Fanning of course), the same atmosphere and the same humor. Unlike STITCH! The Movie, Stitch has a Glitch is the film that continues what happened after the first one. Plus, the film uses more Elvis than the other one, including "Rubberneckin'" "I Need Your Love Tonight" and "Little Less Conversation." Fans of the original Lilo and Stitch will not be disappointed with Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch.

Definitively better than 'Stitch! The Movie', though 'Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch' is still a pretty disappointing sequel.

The premise is uneven, everything involving Stitch and his glitch is actually quite good. However, they drag that out in order to add some stuff with Nani/David and Lilo herself, all of which isn't at all interesting; though there is, at least, a bit of heart in the way Lilo's storyline ends.

Speaking of Lilo, Dakota Fanning replaces Daveigh Chase in the role. Fanning is solid if a little more wooden, Chase's voice feels more natural. Chris Sanders gives an amusing performance as Stitch, while none of the others stand out all that much.

Still way inferior to 2002's 'Lilo & Stitch', but thankfully it doesn't turn into pure toilet viewing like many other straight-to-video sequels from this studio.
  • Is Lilo and Stitch 2:Stitch Has a Glitch as good as the original? Not quite. The original film is funny and touching with wonderful animation and great writing and characters. But is it better than the series and Stitch the Movie? Yes I think so. While the series is decent despite some hit and miss moments, Stitch the Movie feels like an extended TV episode and a rather mediocre one at that.

Lilo and Sticth 2:Stitch Has a Glitch was much better than I expected, and one of the better sequels in my opinion. Though it is not without its flaws. As others have noted, it is too short, at just over an hour it could have done with being 10 minutes longer. The subplot about David and Nani's relationship problems could have also done with more development and while they were still entertaining, Jumbaa and Pleakley could have been used more.

However, the animation is just great, very fluid and colourful in the colours and backgrounds and the characters are well drawn. The soundtrack is also delightful, and made you want to sing along, the story is heart-warming and well-paced with good messaging and the script is both funny and touching. The characters are still likable, Lilo is well-meaning and sweet, Stitch is lovable as always and Nani's personality is less distorted than it is in the series. The voice acting I have nothing against either, and I feel Dakota Fanning is a worthy replacement as Lilo.

Overall, above average and surprisingly pleasant. Had it been longer, it would have been even better. 7/10 Bethany Cox
  • I think that the original Lilo and Stitch is the best animated movie ever made. I was 19 when the original came out as well. When I heard about Stitch! The Movie I was skeptical, but that was basically just a two-hour long episode of the show they were planning (which is quite funny, albeit the animation is not up to par). But, when this movie was announced I was really worried. How were they going to stick a movie in the movie of two established time periods? Well, I was *very* impressed with the animation, but at only 68 minutes long, I knew from the start this movie was going to be a let-down. I thought it was quite funny, but it could have been so much more. Chris Sanders is hilarious, I'm not sure why he hasn't demanded that he has more to do with this series and not just Stitch's voice. I also have *no* idea why Daveign Chase (the original Lilo) did not play her in this movie. It's never been explained why. Dakoda Fanning did a great job, but Chase is already doing Lilo's voice for the TV show and everyone else reprised their roles. All in all, the jokes they did do were very clever, but the plot could have been stretched out into a longer movie.
  • When I first heard about Lilo and Stitch, I had no idea what it was, but after watching the movie at my cousin's house, I practically fell in love with the animation. I was glad to find out as well that it became one of those movies that had continuances. The bad part about such continuances is that sometimes they change things which in my opinion, for movies should remain the same.

Although my brother did not notice any difference, I could tell immediately that Lilo's voice had changed in Lilo and Stitch 2. If you do an IMDb search you will find that it is in fact, two different people who play the voice of Lilo. This was an ultimate downfall. Plus, the movie was not very long. Although, on the upside, the plot is pretty good and so is the animation. If you are a true Lilo and Stitch fan like me though, you'll see it whether others say it's good or bad.
  • Lilo and Stitch was a nice surprise when i rented it out one day. It didn't look like your average Disney flick. It had a twisted reality to it, and what better combination than to have aliens from outer space and hula dancing Hawaiian girls? Surfice to say I bought Lilo and Stitch the next day! To me the film ended too quickly. But thats the problem with an origin film, even as the creators say in the audio commentary "they didn't want it to end and wanted to show the true Pelekai family life that followed" so thats why they did that wonderful end credits with the snapshots. But to me it wasn't enough. The creators must have thought so too, which is why Lilo and Stitch 2 is basically a small story about their daily lives and struggles. Nothing so dramatic, no antagonists, just family problems.. And it works brilliantly, finally getting to see how Lilo and Stitch work together as true family members. The story has a nice flow, showing the good and bad moments that would frequently affect such a "Ohana" as Lilo's. The highlight is Lilo's desire to be like her Mum and win the May Day Hula contest. Lilo bases her Hula on an ancient Hawaaiian story of a goddess and a handsome mortal, not realising that the events of the tale is slowly unfolding in her own life. Lilo is too busy asking Stitch to try and behave and help her, she neglects to try and help Stitch who clearly has a bigger problem. What follows is a truly heart wrenching moment in the entire Lilo and Stitch saga! And the same old animation from the first film really does the final scene in the film justice! Plus, you forget Dakota is Lilo! She's a perfect alternative. A must see for all Lilo and Stitch fans.
  • The first time I saw Disney's original, theatrically released "Lilo & Stitch" from 2002 was near the end of 2006, after it had spawned three direct-to-video sequels and a TV show. The first of the sequels was "Stitch! The Movie" from 2003, which I haven't seen yet, but 2005's "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch" takes place before that one. I thought the original film was great the first time I saw it, but when I watched it again in 2009, I thought it was no more (and no less) than pretty good. I was hesitant to watch any of the sequels after that, knowing from experience that these direct-to-video sequels from Disney usually aren't very good. Approximately a year and a half after last watching the original, I've finally watched this "Lilo & Stitch" sequel, and can say that I have most certainly seen worse animated Disney sequels.

Stitch now lives with Lilo and Nani in their Hawaiian home, as do two other extraterrestrials, Dr. Jumba Jookiba and Agent Pleakley. As Lilo prepares for a local May Day festival hula contest, her mutant alien friend helps her, but he has a problem. When Jumba created the creature, he was arrested before he could finish charging the molecules of his mutant, so Stitch's molecules have never been fully charged, and he is now losing energy! This causes him to frequently turn evil and destructive again, wreaking havoc wherever he is, and if his molecules are not recharged soon, he will die! Jumba quickly gets to work on building a fusion chamber so he can save the result of his illegal genetic experimenting before it's too late, but as he attempts to create this machine, Lilo and Stitch continue their preparation for the competition, and as they do so, Stitch's frequent bouts of evil continue and obviously don't help! This threatens Lilo's chance of success in the contest, and also threatens her relationship with her alien pet, as she doesn't realize that the trouble he is now causing is not his fault!

The 2002 animated Disney flick features some great animation with its tropical backgrounds, and fortunately, that's also the case with this 2005 sequel. In the original film, I didn't find Lilo and Nani to be the most well-crafted characters in the history of animated Disney features, and that's still the case in "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch", but they still have their redeeming qualities in both films. Stitch is still cute and lovable here, just like he is in the original "Lilo & Stitch". I don't think I found as many funny parts in this third film in the franchise as I did in the first, since I only occasionally laughed or smiled, and the Jumba and Agent Pleakley characters didn't seem to amuse me quite as much as before. I thought it was really funny when Pleakley disguises himself as a woman in the first film, but it didn't really seem that funny to me when he does it again here, at least not the first time, though it can be funny when he gives Nani's boyfriend, David Kawena, romantic guidance, which involves his disguise. The story isn't the most fascinating one, as some parts can be a bit bland and the conflict Lilo has with several different characters isn't always that entertaining, nor is Lilo trying to prepare for the contest, but overall, it's definitely not a bad story. There are poignant moments later on in the theatrically released movie that started the franchise, and that's another thing this third film has in common with the first one.

This sequel could have been mediocre or slightly worse, since it is one of the many direct-to-video sequels to Disney animated features, and judging by the ones I've seen (a good number of them), it appears one can expect them to be at least somewhat lacklustre, and never live up to their theatrical predecessors. However, "Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch" turned out to be one of the above average features in this category, even if it's not very high above average. By the end of this particular direct-to-video release, I wasn't 100% sure about my 6/10 rating, especially due to the poignancy towards the end. It is a pretty short feature at just a little over an hour long, and I feel that if it were a bit longer, I just MIGHT have no choice but to give it a 7/10, even though that's the same rating I gave the original after I last watched it, and this film is not nearly as highly rated as that one. Regardless of your age, if you like the original "Lilo & Stitch", then I don't yet know about the second film in the franchise, but this third one, while it could be much better, is probably at least not one you would absolutely hate.

I cant believe this movie is this horrible. It is just as bad as Strange Magic and Norm Of The North. I hate the movie for a living. If it comes back to Netflix this year, It will be the end of the world as we know it. Don't watch this atrocious disaster.
  • I saw Lilo & Stitch 2 with my little brother while we were traveling in the car and I found that it was really good. It had a lot of funny moments in it and the ending had a really good message to it.

I thought that this movie would be kind of like Stitch the Movie which had the sole purpose of kicking off the series and not that great of a plot. I found however that the story was a lot better, they had some pretty good subplots to it, and it was both funny and poignant.

I would recommend this movie for many people, though it does have an appropriate "PG" rating, but I only give it eight out of ten stars because it just wasn't good enough to get the tenth star.

Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has A Glitch is a straight-to-video follow-up of an animated film which became famous for Elvis Presley songs and likable characters. My favorite ones are Jumba and Pleakley and I couldn't wait to see them once again in a full-length movie. As regards the message and main theme of the pic, sequel visually resembles its predecessor, which is a kind of loss as I really expected totally different plot with maybe some new characters. Now Lilo is participating in contest for the best dance and Stitch has sudden fury attacks. However, it all results in the same ending and the same message - a great power of friendship. Besiedes, Jumba And Pleakley remain a bit unused (!) and one subplot (relationship problems between Nani and David) is underdeveloped. Let's go on to more pleasant things. The movie is incredibly funny and ingenious. The verbal humor is aimed not only at children and some scenes are just hilarious. For instance, the scene when the whole family is watching sci-fi film on TV and when Stitch is trying to be a helpful creature. All in all, the plot of Lilo & Stitch 2 is half-baked and, in consequence, the flick is only satisfactory.

It is the worst movie ever. This movie causes cancer. It is a soul crushing mess. Mertle is a stupid little twerp. I hate the fact that there is no villain in the story. Filled with broken writing,The worst part of the movie is that Stitch has a glitch and goes haywire in the hula class. The animation seems like the budget has the IQ of a brain dead devil.

Another entertaining animated comedy for the entire family. The little Hawaiian orphan Lilo(Dakota Fanning's voice)has a problem practicing for a hula contest with her temper getting the best of her. Sister Nani(Tia Carrere's voice)is busy with her job and new boyfriend(Jason Scott Lee's voice)to comfort Lilo, so she turns to her'ET' friend Stitch for help. Stitch has his own problem, when his creator Dr. Jumba(David Ogden Stiers voice)was unable to fully energize him. When things really get bad there is the aid from the spirit of Elvis Presley. Three hit Elvis tunes and some very pleasant Hawaiian music keeps this Disney family/comedy flowing. Other voices featured are those of: Holliston Coleman, Jillian Henry, Kevin McDonald, Liliana Mumy and Matt Corboy.
  • When I heard that there was a sequel coming out for Lilo and Stitch, I knew I had to get it because my daughter loved the original so much.

Unfortunately, like most sequels, it came up a little short.

It had it's funny moments but I kept on thinking "they could of done a lot more in this movie.

This was a good movie, HOWEVER, there is a part in the movie that might make your kid cry. It was put in the worst possible part of the movie. Everything that happened after that scene didn't matter. The damage was done and my daughter cried for over 2 hours after that.

    What they were thinking ????

Just for the record, I am 17 and I am absolutely in love with Lilo & Stitch 1 & 2!!! Both movies had scenes that made me laugh and cry. I thoroughly enjoyed watching both movies and for anyone that hasn't seen them...it is a must! Age doesn't matter in these movies because so many themes speak to everyone. At the end of Lilo & Stitch 2, when Lilo is crying, it broke my heart and my eyes filled with tears. I also laughed so hard when Pleakley began "romancing" David to make Nani jealous. These films will make everyone laugh and cry and go out and buy an alien life form named Stitch. I know I do! For every person who has not gotten to enjoy these heart warming films, do so now!
  • Normally for movies like these, we would get straight-to-video Disney sequels that we didn't ask for end up terrible. But honestly, this one is really not that bad. Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch is an okay sequel that has a decent amount of ohana. On one hand, it can be a bit of a mess with some unnecessary plot lines with Jumba and Pleakly, a lack of consistent for some scenes, and comedy that can be a hit and miss. On other hand, it does try with some good animation, an engaging hula contest plot line that comes with a heartfelt idea, nice voice acting, and some heart that keeps up the charm from the predecessor. I won't say it's a must watch, but I think fans of Lilo and Stitch may enjoy this as much. Maybe even some may watch this for a nostalgia trip, like I did. It may not be as great as the original, but it was a fair ohana for the franchise.
  • This movie was messy ,disgusting, and revolting. I had to take a shower right away through all of that dirtiness. The story is inconsistent and doesn't even know what it is talking about. The animation was horrendous because All Of The kids looked like sharks with no artistic background. The characters are hate able and unbearable. This movie was torturous. Dakota Fanning does super terrible acting. This has to be the worst movies ever made! This was a bad excuse of a movie.
  • This is by far the best sequel I've seen as a DVD/video release from Disney. From all of the other sequels Disney made weren't as "enchanting", not a lot of work was put into (e.g., story plot, voice acting, score, music, etc.) although this movie is worth the purchase and the viewing! It even has a sort of twist in the movie (no spoiling!)

To put it simply, here's how I'd put the movie:

The Good: -animation stayed and true and original (as in "Lilo And Stitch" unlike "Stitch: The Movie" -the score qualifies well for a theatrical release -story and plot is deep and rich -had its "theatrical touch"

The Bad: -having the movie with the length approximately 1 hour

It's just too bad this movie wasn't released first as a Theatrical release. Probably for the reason of the short length of the movie although it is still definitely one that you should purchase, worth buying. This beats all the other Disney Sequels DVD releases. More work is put into this movie for a family fun film.

*People who've seen "Lilo And Stitch" and "Stitch: The Movie" would definitely find this movie better and funny!!
  • I came into this with a bit of skepticism but I gotta say I loved it! This movie got me tearing up it's more grounded then the first movie it doesn't have to waste time establishing characters it instead puts a heavy emphasis on family and is a great fun to watch it's great to see when love and care is shown in the story and animation the ending had me tearing up man I dunno I don't usually tear up watching kids movies but I guess we're all a little different.
  • The last time they released a straight to dvd disney sequel,It ended up being a disaster it turned out to be. Its so bad! The writing feels like the talents have been wasted and the animation was made by a brain damaged demon! This is just bad for its quality. Its nothing but trash.
  • Pulling back to the style of the original movie and less like the series, it's less sci-fi adventure and more of a standard drama with some soapy elements.

Much better than a direct to home media disney sequel has a right to be, though, I watched in only a couple of sittings.

Structurally, this does feel a bit stitched together (no pun intended) plotwise. The catalyst is that Stitch has...well... you know... and the plot is fuelled by misunderstanding but clearly Jumba knows what's going on; why doesn't he say anything?!

Stitch's internal conflict between his love for his Ohana and his programming could have been very engaging but that it's all just a glitch negates much of any thematic richness we could have gotten from this.

Another theme just jammed in there is honoring our departed parents and it works well enough but that element is a little more abstract. A subplot where Plikli tries to help David court Nani isn't so bad but it feels like it would be more at place in an episode of the show.

Exotic, vibrant and with a fair bit of charming humor. The trailers made it look excruciating and while there is some almost-too-real awkwardness in there, the whole thing just about goes the distance.

Did I miss the voice of Daveigh Chase? Yeah... Fanning is not exactly the best actor but she does the character justice though one does get the impression that Lilo has aged about 7 years over-night.

Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch Directed by Michael LaBash and Tony Leondis.

Really cute watch. Jumba and Aunty Peakley have settled down with Nani and Lilo as well in earth. Lilo has a hula competition she is practicing for. But it's seen Stitch keeps malfunctioning. Jumba realizes there was a problem while charging Stitch initially. How they showed the love and unity of Stitch and Lilo is very touching. Towards the end seems Lilo's love and concern is what kept Stitch alive. The family theme continue 'Ohana'. Loved Nani's cute little love story as well. The background music is soothing to listen to.
