I'm not asking anybody to vote for Democrats or Republicans. I say everyone should vote for both candidates, except me. Just let me vote for (2004 Democratic Presidential nominee John) Kerry. Then we'll be fine." Colbert has also called his "Colbert" character a "well-intentioned, poorly informed, high-status idiot."
