Previously, we heard from Captain America star Anthony Mackie that Avengers: Doomsday would give fans that 'old school Marvel feeling', and his latest comments indicate that there's one film in particular that Doomsday might be looking to channel.
Speaking to Collider to promote his upcoming animated feature, Sneaks, Mackie teased that Avengers: Doomsday ends on a cliffhanger. This sentiment immediately draws a comparison to Avengers: Infinity War.
“You know what? I was really excited, man,” he told Collider. “It’s one of those stories that really pushes the boundaries, and it — the cliffhanger at the end, you know, the last moments of the film — it really builds and sets us up for a way for the continuation of the Marvel saga, which is really exciting.”
Doubling down on the exciting, cliffhanger aspect of the film, Mackie added, “You see these characters, and you see how they’re introduced and how...

The Skillhouse looks like Saw II for the influencer generation — which makes sense, since writer-director Josh Stolberg co-wrote Jigsaw, Spiral, and Saw X.
Skillhouse goes viral in theaters July 11 from Fathom Entertainment. You can watch the first nine minutes now on GenTV.
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson stars alongside social media sensations Bryce Hall and Hannah Stocking. Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger), McCarrie McCausland (“Army Wives”), and combat sports fighter Paige VanZant round out the cast.
Shot in the legendary Sway House where many internet personalities rose to fame, the film follows ten influencers who are lured into a sinister content house and forced to compete in lethal social media challenges – because in Skillhouse, clout isn’t just currency; it’s survival.
“Skillhouse has been a revolutionary film project from the outset – one that is thrilling and compelling for anyone on social media and horror fans of all ages,” said...

Have you ever imagined what a Byakugan Captain America or Wolverine with Sharingan would be like? Me neither! The superheroes of Marvel and the shinobi of Konoha from Naruto hardly share any similarities, which makes it difficult to imagine them coexisting in the same universe. However, nothing can stop fans from exploring ‘what ifs’ that bring these two worlds together.
This time around, a fan on Instagram has come up with a terrifying possibility that would make all power scales completely useless. This is simply because Wolverine and Captain America are already quite overpowered, and they don’t need the strongest Kekkei Genkai from Naruto in their arsenal. Alas, this possibility intrigues me nonetheless, so here’s an exploration of it.

Paramount Pictures has shared a jaw-dropping new look at Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, offering a quick sneak peek at Tom Cruise's most dangerous stunt yet, as he hangs off the wing of a biplane at 8,000 feet, with winds of over 140 mph blasting!
This stunt, which will undoubtedly be this final installment's signature sequence. has been in the works for several years now, with Cruise ("Ethan Hunt") and director Christopher McQuarrie having meticulously shot it over the last two years. The duo actually first teased the plane sequence at CinemaCon 2023 ahead of the launch of that summer's Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning.
The previous installment received widespread critical acclaim and the follow-up is shaping up to bigger and better in every way. In our Dead Reckoning review, we said, "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is the undisputed blockbuster movie event of the summer! The Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise is the most successful in Hollywood history. It has grossed over $31 billion at the box office and its legacy will continue in the years ahead, with plenty of exciting titles on the horizon. From the Infinity Saga to the Multiverse Saga and beyond, fans are loving what the MCU is producing.
There are countless beloved heroes in the franchise, but Captain America might just be the most important of all. The Star-Spangled Man With A Plan is, after all, the first Avenger, so it makes sense that he be at the center of the franchise - and he was, for the longest time. As one of the leaders of the Avengers and a pop-culture legend even within the fictitious world of the franchise, Chris Evans' Steve Rogers was a fixture of the MCU until 2019's Avengers: Endgame when he handed the shield over to longtime friend,...

Captain America: Brave New World arrives at a time in MCU where the Og Avengers are dearly missed, “a bit of a low point,” to quote Deadpool. But that’s no measure to Sam Wilson aka new Cap’s (Anthony Mackie) leading abilities after all he’s been there right from the start. The character will return in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, and he’ll be “running the show.”
After Sam Wilson got the shield handed over by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) in Avengers: Endgame, it took him some time to completely take over the mantle as we saw in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He came in his full Captain America avatar in the latest entry Brave New World. Writer of the feature Rob Edwards recently speculated where Sam Wilson’s story will take him next. "He's Captain America now, so arguably, he's running the show. I think that's the next step,...

Mere days before it debuts on PVOD platforms, Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World has passed what will likely be its final box office milestone. Remarkably, the movie still hasn't passed the $200 million mark domestically. This wouldn’t have made much difference to its final haul, but for a project of this magnitude to fail to hit even $200 million domestically doesn’t make for great optics. As it is, it was barely able to scrape past the $400 million mark worldwide — this is often considered the benchmark for success for movies this size.
With $199.9 million domestically and another $ million from overseas markets, Brave New Worldhas hit a cumulative global total of around $415 million. This puts it around $300 million shy of Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s lifetime global gross from over a decade ago, and around $700 million short of Captain America: Civil War’s lifetime haul from 2016. Our favorite 1940s wartime British agent is back to dance and fight Doombots. And she’s all out of dance partners.
As reported in a Deadline exclusive, Hayley Atwell is set to reprise her role as Peggy Carter in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Unfortunately, she wasn’t announced by a chair, which is rude. Thanks, X-Men. I’m blaming you.
Atwell’s portrayal as the beloved Carter first crossed audiences' paths in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, where she served as a British liaison to the United States Armed Forces during their battles with the Nazis. Introduced to a frail Steve Rogers, she witnessed his selflessness and bravery, even in the most dire of situations. Carter soon fell in love with Rogers, but lost him to an air vessel trapped in ice for over 70 years.

After a quiet 2024, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was supposed to make a big, explosive comeback in 2025. Unfortunately, not everything has gone according to plan during the first months of the year. While the Disney Plus projects, such as Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man and Daredevil: Born Again, premiered to a raving critical reception, the same can't be said for Marvel's first theatrical venture of 2025: Captain America: Brave New World.
Cap's movie only grossed $413 million on a budget of around $180 million without accounting for marketing expenses and reshoots — which, at best, means that it barely made a profit. At worst? Disney had another loss on its hands. Furthermore, Daredevil's numbers haven't necessarily exceeded expectations either. The series' opening gathered 7.5 million viewers, which is still an impressive number considering its 18+ rating, yet it falls short compared to the 10.9 million viewers for the first episode of Loki season 2. Marvel's record hasn't been impecable as of late,...

Captain America: Brave New World puts Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson in the forefront for the first time as the Sentinel of Liberty as he takes on the latest twists in the long-running Multiverse Saga. With the film setting up Wilson to be the new leader of the Avengers, the Captain America sequel's co-screenwriter feels that he's "running the show" as he prepares for the events of Avengers: Doomsday.
Speaking with ComicBookMovie.com, Brave New World scribe Rob Edwards addressed Wilson's future as Captain America following his first big-screen outing as the titular supersoldier. The Captain America follow-up teased its eponymous hero as the leader of the rebuilt Avengers, who haven't been seen together since Endgame, with Wilson rallying the troops following the death of Tony Stark/Iron Man and others. Edwards believes Wilson has shown he's ready to take on such a big mantle.

Thunderbolts* is looking to kick off the summer movie season with an impressive opening weekend, though it speaks to how successful the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become that it would be on the lower end of the franchise. Marvel Studios has given the coveted first weekend of May to Thunderbolts*, the same window in which they have released box-office smash hits like The Avengers, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and the very first Iron Man. With a rag-tag team of anti-heroes and lesser-known characters, Thunderbolts* is looking to capture the same outside-the-superhero-genre tone that made the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise such a hit.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thunderbolts* is currently tracking for a $70 million opening weekend, with lower estimations suggesting $63 million, while on the high end, it could reach $77 million. This does align with previous box office tracking that said...

After eight full weekends in theaters, things are finally slowing down at the box office for Captain America: Brave New World. Anthony Mackie’s big-screen debut as the Star-Spangled Man has earned $199 million at the domestic box office and $213 million internationally for a total of $412 million worldwide. While this is enough to make it one of the three highest-grossing movies of the year globally and the #1 movie domestically, it doesn’t hold up so well against the rest of the MCU. Brave New World has earned less than half the box office total of 17 MCU movies, and it is currently the sixth-lowest-grossing MCU movie ever. Brave New World has passed only The Marvels, The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: The First Avenger, Black Widow, and Eternals.

Hollywood is full of unforgettable on-screen romances, and one of my favorites is from Captain America: The First Avenger, between Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter. I truly felt like Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell had great chemistry in the movie, which was electric and beautiful.
The end of their story was bittersweet, but behind the scenes, Atwell seemed to have a great time. So, let’s dive into some of her favorite scenes with Evans, as she reveals more about the dynamics between her and Captain America.

I found Hayley Atwell’s portrayal of Peggy Carter to be simply amazing as she embodied the character’s fierce and intelligent nature. In an issue of Esquire, the actress recounted the moment when Chris Evans first appeared shirtless on the movie set.

Despite some of its low points in recent memory, the Marvel Cinematic Universe also has plenty of benefits, thanks to the interconnected nature of most of its projects. Characters that audiences sometimes don't expect to return come back and add thematic weight to a film or television show in exciting new ways. One such character was Red Skull, who returned in Avengers: Endgame after not showing up for almost a decade following his mysterious disappearance in Captain America: The First Avenger. Now, the actor who played the villain wants to reprise the role again in a new project.
During an interview with ScreenRant, actor Ross Marquand (who took over the role from Hugo Weaving) was asked if he'd considered returning as Red Skull. Marquand's response was surprisingly more in-depth than expected, as he revealed that he has been campaigning for a Captain America limited series on Disney+ to continue the...

You know that feeling when you’re watching Black Mirror, vibing with all the dark, techy chaos, and then suddenly, boom, you spot someone from the MCU? Like, “Hey wait, is that Falcon getting emotionally wrecked by a video game?” Yup. That’s the beauty of Black Mirror. It’s literally a goldmine for spotting Marvel stars in totally different (and usually way more depressing) roles.
Turns out a lot of your fave MCU actors have taken a detour through the messed-up worlds of Charlie Brooker’s twisted imagination. Some did it before their superhero days, others after they’d already suited up, and a few even during their Marvel glow-up. And now, with Season 7 dropping, the list just keeps growing.

'Captain America: Brave New World's Global Box Office Haul Can't Top This MCU Superhero Introduction

After nearly two months of release in theaters worldwide, Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World is on its last legs. The superhero movie had a solid-enough debut at the box office, but couldn’t maintain the same momentum across the next few weeks. It remains among the lowest-grossing films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s history, but was able to pass the all-important $400 million mark globally some days ago. It’s mainly for optics, but anything less than $400 million for a film this size is considered disappointing. Directed by Julius Onah, Brave New World passed what will likely be its final milestone this week, as it prepares to land on digital soon.
With $199 million domestically so far, the movie will probably pass the $200 million mark by the end of its run. It will, however, remain the second-lowest-grossing Captain America movie ever, behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

David Oyelowo is still determined to take to the skies in The Return of the Rocketeer, a sequel to the 1991 cult classic The Rocketeer. First announced in 2021, the film is to be produced by, and possibly star, Oyelowo, and is to center around a retired member of the Tuskegee Airmen who takes up the high-flying mantle of the Rocketeer. Oyelowo spoke about the project with Collider's Christina Radish while promoting his new Apple TV+ series, Government Cheese.
Says Oyelowo of the long-in-development sequel:

During last night's Final Four games on CBS, Paramount Pictures announced that the brand new theatrical trailer for Tom Cruise's highly anticipated Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning - which originally debuted at CinemaCon last week - will be released online Monday!
Whether it'll drop during the National Championship Game or earlier in the day remains to be seen, but we'd wager on the latter since that's generally when the studio tends to launch new footage. We'd then expect a TV spot to debut during the game, directing fans online to check out the full-length trailer.
Plot details remain under wraps, but we learned at CinemaCon that the film will pick up two months after the events of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) still seemingly on the run and presumably on the hunt for the sunken Sevastopol.

Hayley Atwell debuted as Steve Rogers' love-interest, Peggy Carter, in Captain America: The First Avenger, but the British actress got the opportunity to voice a very different take on the hero in the What If...? Animated series, before suiting-up as "Captain Carter" (a Captain America variant) for a brief appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
We had previously heard that Atwell might be set to return as Peggy for Avengers: Doomsday, and THR has now confirmed that the Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning star has finalized her deal to reprise the role for both Doomsday and Secret Wars.
Atwell didn't get a chair in the recent Doomsday cast reveal, but we have been told that there will be another announcement at some point.
While speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast recently, Atwell expressed frustration with her Doctor Strange 2 cameo, which saw Carter unceremoniously dispatched by a rampaging Scarlet With.

You won't find a cinematic event in 2026 that will be bigger than Avengers: Doomsday. Spider-Man: Brand New Day might match it in box office takings, but that's a whole other story. Either way, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to enjoy a hugely successful year. The Multiverse Saga is set to come to an end with those two films, plus another Avengers in 2027, and there is a reason that the world is talking about Avengers: Doomsday.

Captain America: Brave New World will collect one final box office milestone this weekend as it paves the way for the next Marvel movie of 2025 to hit theaters. Anthony Mackie’s debut as Captain America has grossed $197 million at the domestic box office and $211 million internationally for a worldwide cumulative haul of $409 million. The film will surge towards $200 million at the domestic box office this weekend, which it should have no trouble reaching if not by Sunday, then early next week. Captain America: Brave New World is still in the lower echelon of Marvel movies in terms of its box office gross. It has earned enough globally to pass The Marvels, The Incredible Hulk, The First Avenger, Black Widow, andEternals, but it still needs $23 million to pass Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

Avengers Tetralogy Box Office(Photo Credit – Prime Video)
The Avengers franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, aka MCU, is among the highest-grossing film series. This franchise has four films, and two more are slated to be released soon. Captain America: Brave New World Worldwide Box Office: In Comparison With Civil War ( Photo Credit – Instagram; Facebook )
Anthony Mackie has been an essential part of the MCU since his first appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He was the Falcon until Chris Evans’ Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, handed him the shield. After one miniseries, Mackie finally got his solo MCU flick, Captain America: Brave New World, which is braving past the box office challenges due to its underwhelming performance. Although it has surpassed the global collection of The First Avenger, it is miles away from the Civil War’s total collection, which is the last film in the Evans-led franchise. Keep scrolling for the deets.
Before the fourth film was released, each Captain America movie earned more than its predecessor. For example, The Winter Soldier earned more than The First Avenger, and Civil War earned more than the second film.

Marvel had a rough year in 2023. Many of its properties underperformed, and they lost their big villain due to Jonathan Majors being fired. Looking forward to their upcoming slate, comic fans have been excited about some of the studio’s projects over the next few years. Will these films help Marvel regain control? The upcoming Thunderbolts film has been one that fanboys have been hoping to see since the MCU started. With some recent news about the property coming up, it seems like the right time to break down what we know about the production.
Who Are The Thunderbolts?
The team first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1997 in an issue of The Incredible Hulk. They seemed to be a new group of superheroes that had arrived on the scene and gained acclaim very quickly. The reader was informed that the group was actually a group of supervillains led by Baron Zemo.

Captain America: Brave New World continues the Marvel Cinematic Universe's string of polarizing post-Avengers: Endgame releases, with the superhero sequel earning mixed reviews from critics as its theatrical run nears its end. As the Valentine's Day release keeps getting little love from film buffs, one of its writers believes they "got it wrong" with their reviews.
Speaking with The Direct during WonderCon, Brave New World co-screenwriter Rob Edwards addressed the negative feedback from critics following the MCU blockbuster's release this past February. The Captain America sequel has a 48% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes and one of the worst marks for an MCU movie on CinemaScore. When asked if the reception was what he expected, Edwards said, "I kinda did, kinda didn't. I think similar things have happened... with a lot of different projects. It was weird to me, because some of my friends who are critics, I said, 'I think you guys missed it.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson stars alongside social media personalities Bryce Hall and Hannah Stocking in Skillhouse, with Josh Stolberg (Spiral: From the Book of Saw) directing.
Deadline reports that Skillhouse, “a dark satire of social media and influencer culture, exploring how far people will go for online fame,” hits theaters July 11 from Fathom Entertainment.
In the film, “Ten influencers are lured into a sinister content house and forced to compete in lethal social media challenges – because in Skillhouse, clout isn’t just currency; it’s survival.”
Neal McDonough, McCarrie McCausland (“Army Wives,” “The Originals,” “Game of Silence”), and Paige VanZant also star.
“Horror has always been a genre that captivates moviegoers, but never has Fathom distributed to movie theatres a project quite like Skillhouse,” said Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Entertainment. “Social media permeates our society today, and influencers have changed the dynamics of how many choose the brands they purchase and the content they consume.

Hayley Atwell has been in the MCU right from the start, first introduced as Peggy in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger and went on to make numerous appearances throughout the 'Infinity Saga' even getting Agent Carter standalone series. Post-Endgame, she returned in the What If…? animated series as Captain Carter and brought the character to live-action again in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as part of the Illuminati. However, the actress recently shared that her cameo as Captain Carter wasn’t satisfying due to creative reasons.
While fans think that an actor who has been a mainstay of the franchise will have more creative control or input about their character, Atwell revealed in a new podcast a tense moment from Multiverse of Madness where she was “able to stand up for myself with grace.” The actor shared that her cameo in the movie was like “blink and you’ll miss me.

Actress Hayley Atwell embodied the role of agent Peggy Carter to perfection in the MCU. The actress debuted with Captain America: The First Avenger and eventually headed her own series, Agent Carter, with Marvel Television. While her story ended in Avengers: Endgame, she reprised her role in Doctor Strange 2 as an alternative version.
Atwell’s role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was limited but brutal. She is brutally killed by Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch despite being the Captain America of that dimension. Atwell reportedly was frustrated with the cameo as she felt that the death undermined the character, especially after saying a classic Captain America line.

Now nearing two full months of release in theaters worldwide, Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World must come to terms with the fact that it simply hasn't performed well enough. It's still among the lowest-grossing installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will likely conclude its run in the bottom half of Marvel's all-time charts. That being said, Brave New World recently passed the all-important $400 million milestone globally — the benchmark for films of this size — as it aims to overtake fellow MCU movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings at the worldwide box office.
With almost $200 million domestically and around $210 million from overseas markets, Brave New World's cumulative global haul now stands at $405 million. By comparison, Shang-Chi concluded its run with $432 million worldwide in mid-pandemic 2021, when several territories around the world were operating under tight restrictions. Hayley Atwell established herself as a fan favourite in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, leaving Marvel Studios no choice but to bring her back into the fold.
That started with a fun "One-Shot" short and, following an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. cameo, Marvel Television launched the Agent Carter TV series (the only one of their shows that Marvel Studios executives were actively involved with).
Years later, Peggy was made the face of Marvel Animation's What If...? as a Variant of the character who took the Super Soldier Serum and became "Captain Carter." She also struck a chord with fans, so her live-action debut in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was cause for celebration. Until it wasn't.
She died in short order and, confusingly, the Captain Carter who died at the Scarlet Witch's hands was another very similar Variant and, ultimately, a waste of that long-awaited debut.

Captain America: Brave New World Worldwide Box Office: Beats Eternals’ Global Run (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Captain America: Brave New World is slowly achieving new milestones at the worldwide box office. It has crossed the global haul of one of the MCU’s controversial movies, Eternals. The film is controversial because it did not earn as much as other films and was also not met with positive reviews. Anthony Mackie’s film is trying its best not to become one of the five lowest-grossing MCU films.
Eternals was released in 2021 and featured a grand cast of the top Hollywood stars. It featured Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie. The MCU movie featured the immortal beings who came out of hiding after thousands of years to protect Earth from their ancient counterparts, the Deviants.

Marvel Studios' next big ensemble film, Thunderbolts*, is just over a month away, and anticipation is only continuing to build. Besides James Gunn's trilogy-capper Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there hasn't been much in the way of big team-ups or event films that have worked for the studio since Avengers: Endgame. Chloé Zhao's Eternals didn't find the success it was looking for, and Avengers: Doomsday isn't due until May 2026. Thankfully, Thunderbolts* is nearly here, and we now have a reveal of the runtime that can give fans an idea of what to expect in the unconventional team-up movie.
The official Regal Theaters' movie website has listed the runtime of Thunderbolts* as being 2 hours and 6 minutes long. Clocking in at 126 minutes, the film is only slightly longer than the 118-minute runtime of Captain America: Brave New World, the other newest Marvel Studios film released in February. The runtime...

Since things haven’t been looking so good for the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the last few months, it seems as if Kevin Feige is playing it extra safe when it comes to Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. With stakes this high, Kevin Feige is looking for 0% risk and 100% blockbuster magic, and he is roping in Marvel Studios’ Og editor for the job.
Jeffrey Ford is the editing mastermind Kevin Feige is bringing back once again. If his name sounds familiar to you, he is the man behind some of the best MCU movies to have come out since its inception. Whether it’s Avengers or Captain America, the man has done it all.

Toby Jones wonders if the film and TV industry is becoming more risk-averse.
“It does feel like that at the moment, with the price of IP,” the veteran actor tells The Hollywood Reporter about an absence of original storytelling. “Is it just harder for those new voices to come through? Or will they come through thanks to new technologies? Or maybe people will just make films like [Sean Baker] — with their phone.”
If there’s anyone to pay attention to on this subject, it’s Jones. You’ve most likely seen him in one of his 70-something movies across his decades-spanning career: maybe his voice work as Dobby in the beloved Harry Potter franchise or as evil scientist Arnim Zola of Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger.
Perhaps you know him from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, as Truman Capote in biopic Infamous or as Claudius Templesmith in The Hunger Games.

At 11 a.m. this morning, the Marvel Studios social media accounts started live-streaming a video they labeled as an all-caps Announcement. The video showed a soundstage where, one by one, chairs reserved for actors were revealed, with a new chair coming into view every 10 minutes or so. As it turns out, this was a very long and slow way of revealing the star-studded cast of Avengers: Doomsday, which is now heading into production and aiming for a May 1, 2026 theatrical release.
The first chair belonged to Chris Hemsworth, who has played Thor, the God of Thunder, in Thor, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder. The second chair was reserved for Vanessa Kirby, who plays Susan Storm (a.k.a. Invisible Woman) in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which will be reaching theatres on July 25th.

Captain America: Brave New World Worldwide Box Office: Unleashes A New Milestone For The MCU Franchise(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Captain America: Brave New World has finally crossed a significant milestone at the worldwide box office. The film might not be a huge success like the previous two Captain America films, but it has helped the franchise cross a major box office milestone worldwide. It is Anthony Mackie’s solo MCU outing, and it is slowly moving up the charts. It has beaten several MCU movies in the last weeks and might surpass a few more in its lifetime. 2025 has had a slow start so far at the box office. Even with little competition, Captain America: Brave New World has struggled to get people to the theaters to see the film.
The movie premiered in theaters on Feb. 14, and it marked Anthony Mackie's first solo film and his debut as Captain America after being in the MCU for over a decade. Since its release, the superhero movie has had its fair share of achievements, but it's still waiting to become a definite hit. Per Deadline, this weekend, Captain America: Brave New World officially crossed the $400 million mark worldwide.
In total, Captain America: Brave New World grossed $400.8 million worldwide, with over $190 million from the domestic market. The domestic gross alone covered its investment, which came with a price tag of $180 million. However, Captain America 4 is still fighting for profit.

Captain America: Brave New World has been slowly bringing in the green for Marvel and Disney. Emphasis on slowly. It had a solid opening weekend haul of nearly 200 million, but has just barely been able to match its first weekend in total sales afterwards. After this weekend, the fourth film in the Captain America franchise and the first to feature Sam Wilson as Cap, has reached 400 million at the box office.
It's been reported that Brave New World needs to make 425 million at the box office to break even and not cost Marvel money. If it ends up hitting that 425 million benchmark, it will be very close. As it's been in theaters for nearly a month and a half, it's expected to leave theaters entirely soon. Showtime availability is already becoming quite limited, so there's a good chance it won't break even.

The casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers sequels was about the most unpredictable movie news of the past decade. But it seemed set in (infinity) stone that the Russo Brothers would return behind the camera – except the boys actually didn’t want anything to do with it at first.
As Joe Russo told Omelete (via Variety), it was Rdj himself that had to convince the brothers to direct both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars after Kevin Feige couldn’t seal the deal. “Robert tried to talk us into doing [the movies] and we said ‘no.’…We just didn’t have a story. Having recently completed over a month and a half of release in theaters worldwide, Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World just hit the $400 million mark at the global box office. The $400 million milestone is often seen as the threshold for films of this size to be counted as hits. But, at the same time, the superhero movie is also creeping towards a coveted domestic box office benchmark. Samuel L. Jackson recalled some priceless advice he received from Bruce Willis while they were shooting Die Hard With A Vengeance in 1994.
“He told me, ‘Hopefully you’ll be able to find a character that, when you make bad movies and they don’t make any money, you can always go back to this character everybody loves,” Jackson shared in an interview with Vanity Fair celebrating Willis’ 70th birthday . “He said, ‘Arnold’s got Terminator. Sylvester’s got Rocky, Rambo. I’ve got John McClane.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, okay.’ And it didn’t occur to me until I got that Nick Fury role—and I had a nine-picture deal to be Nick Fury—that, Oh, I’m doing what Bruce said. I’ve got this character now.”
Jackson went on to make a dozen Marvel films starring as Nick Fury, beginning with 2008’s Iron Man. He went to appear...

Having played in theaters worldwide for over a month, the Marvel superhero film Captain America: Brave New World is approaching what could be its last global box office milestone. The film will likely pass the $400 million mark this weekend, as it continues to languish at the bottom of the Marvel Cinematic Universe barrel. Before it celebrates this achievement, however, Brave New World will overtake a couple of major superhero movies on the global box office charts. The film is riding on the momentum of having overtaken Captain America: The First Avenger and Black Widow globally.

Out of all the characters Stanley Tucci has played in his 40-plus years career, there’s one in particular that he relates to the most.
While making a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show to promote his new Netflix movie, The Electric State, the Oscar-nominated actor was asked by guest host Kal Penn, “Which of your characters is most like you in real life?”
He quickly answered: “Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada! He’s very stylish, and he can be a bit caustic. But he’s got a good heart.”
He playfully added, “I mean, I think I have a good heart.”
Tucci starred alongside Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in the 2006 classic as the fashion-obsessed art director at Runway magazine. Throughout the film, he takes Andy (Hathaway) under his wing and helps her navigate working as the assistant to Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Streep.)

Captain America: Brave New World may not be riding a huge red, white and blue wave to success. However, the latest big-screen effort from the Marvel Cinematic Universe sails past a few MCU films domestically as it ekes out as much box-office momentum as possible.
Via Collider, the latest Captain America sequel earned $5 million in domestic ticket sales despite recently losing its top spot on the box office chart to Robert Pattinson's Mickey 17 and facing new competition from Black Bag and Novocaine.
