Many porn stars became household names, still famous many years later, but one of the best (and undervalued) is Hannah Harper, who made many fine movies for Sin City a decade and a half ago.

Directed with style by camera ace Francois Clousot, "Stalker" is a fine suspense thriller, boasting not merely strong sex content but solid acting by Harper and her supporting cast. It actually plays better than many a mainstream feature in this genre.

Opening has the climax of a horror movie in black & white on tv titled "The Stalker" featuring actress Melissa Monet (production manager of Clousot's movie) as the damsel in distress facing a home invader. Hannah and her boyfriend Kris Slater are watching, and he is reluctant to make love to her afterward, HH's combination of beauty and sexiness proves irresistible, but Slater's behavior immediately raises doubts in the viewer as to whether he's a good guy.

But the title character turns out to be a co-worker of his played by Chris Cannon, in one of his best acting roles. He plays a security expert, and when he shows up unannounced in Hannah's bedroom the next morning his suspicious behavior resonates with the audience and sets up the movie's involving suspense trajectory.

And suspense in the Hitchcock mode is what we thankfully get: not shocks or fake surprises but well-developed story elements that are believable and fairly presented. No red herrings or dumb tricks in the uncredited screenplay.

More than mere case study, as we watch Cannon's manipulation of Hannah and ingenious plotting to win this woman he's stalking it is impressive how ambivalent a response the actor is able to develop. He's the villain, but an amazingly sympathetic one. Part of this result is achieved by the story presenting each male character as misogynist and basically a nogoodnik, building sympathy for HH.

Her femme supporting cast is strong, including fellow top-ranked lingerie model Brooke Banner, best friend (of slutty morals) Brittney Skye and sexy babes Trina Michaels and Ariana Jollee. Highlight of Clousot's direction is a very well-edited sex scene where busty prostitute Michaels is servicing Cannon while he is imagining an erotic fantasy of making love instead to Hannah.

Movie's climax is very well staged and packs a punch.
