Forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan and cocky F.B.I. Special Agent Seeley Booth build a team to investigate murders. Quite often, there isn't more to examine than rotten flesh or mere bones.
The Royal Diner, where Brennan and Booth (and occasionally the other characters) go to relax after work, really exists in Washington, but the one in New Jersey (on Route 31 North), not the District of Columbia.
Dr. Lance Sweets:
What part of your head hurts?
Special Agent Seeley Booth: The part above my shoulders.
In several episodes in Season 1, the red and blue police lights in the rear of Booth's FBI Tahoe are installed incorrectly so that the lights face the interior of the vehicle. Its best seen in 1.20, when they're driving to the small town. If the lights face the interior of the vehicle, they obviously cannot be seen outside of the vehicle (plus they probably blind the occupants of the vehicle).
