After Homer accidentally pollutes the town's water supply, Springfield is encased in a gigantic dome by the EPA and the Simpson family are declared fugitives.
The highest-grossing PG-13 animated film of all time (183,135,014 dollars domestically, and 527,071,022 dollars worldwide).
We come in peace for cats and mice everywhere.
When the dome is placed over Springfield, you can see Lenny and Carl in the middle of Springfield. When the dome goes over Moe's and the Church, Lenny and Carl are also at Moe's.
During the credits, there is a clip of Tom Hanks saying "if you see me in person, please leave me be".
In televised versions of the movie where no scenes are removed, Bart's full-frontal shot is censored. FX aired a version with Bart's genitals covered by a long horizontal black bar with the words "European Version Only"; when it aired on Australian TV, the bar was only large enough to cover the offending area and had no text.
