"Sex Games Vegas" and "Sex Games Cancun" was a late night Cinemax series that are part of the much talked about "skinemax", best known for its soft-core porn style. In this series, which ran for only two seasons, a couple - Carl and Mona Barrish portrayed by Chloe and Daniel Anderson - own a popular beach resort in Cancun and another in Vegas - where couples and singles come for some adult fun. Far from being a place to get laid, the guests are usually seeking for an experience beyond just the physical and search for their perfect match, be it sexually or emotionally. Carl and Mona, who are swingers, have been married for years and love to play match maker with the guests. By the end of every episode, couples who have been disenchanted rekindle their passion or singles looking for love finally find it. Many episodes were well-written and quite steamy. As the title suggests, the hotel owners loved to play games with their hotel guests and twist after erotic turn, the guests find their perfect match, and have sexual fun along the way of that discovery. Certain episodes seemed to try to cross into controversial waters like "For I Have Sinned" about a lapsed Catholic girl and the Father/Priest she's confessed her erotic encounters with, but many episodes dealt with sexual games a la "Dangerous Liasions" like "The Newly Wed Game", "The Bet" or "The Last Temptation of Hank". Others were just fun contest games with hot girls like "Miss Las Vegas", "The Vegas Wash" and "Lady Luck". "Phone Tag" was about texting, messaging and getting even with a bitchy boss through seducing a client and sending cell phone pictures of the encounter. The most heart-felt episode was the last one "When Carl Met Mona" a look back at how the owners of the sinful hotel met and fell in love. The acting on this series, though let's face it, they're adult film stars, is not dramatic or thought-provoking but a few episodes were so well written and the lead actors - Chloe and Dan Anderson - were especially talented actors and could really act like Hollywood film professionals, owing to their individual acting/drama background, which means that when they aren't in the throws of passion, they can certainly appear like actors in a Hollywood film. Underneath the passionate sex between these two was the fact these two were in love and into each other. Great original music, made specifically for this sexy show was by Herman Beeftink.A well-done series. If you like softcore erotica this is definitely for you. Reruns of this show still air on Cinemax after midnight Eastern time.

My rating of 8 is compared to other fare in the Skinemax softcore genre, and this series was a winner. The first season was "set" in Vegas, and the second season in Cancun. But it actually looks like they were in a rented estate with pools and lots of rooms for couples to disappear into.

The series had a lot of interesting stories, and many of them were truly comedies. "Scents and Sensibilities" the third episode from the second season, we thought was quite amusing, as a team of male and female researchers developed a "sex pheromone". After it affected them appropriately in the lab, they decided to field test it at the party.

Many other episodes have either interesting stories or amusing moments.
