Joel Potrykus on His Deadly Bummer Trip Comedy ‘Vulcanizadora’ and Only Approaching Indie Filmmaking With a ‘Band Mentality’
Image
Joel Potrykus doesn’t want to blow up Sean Baker’s phone.

“I asked him if he would moderate this Q&a. I made the mistake of putting a money incentive in there,” Potrykus confesses. “It immediately felt weird. I should have never mentioned money at all. He always replies… I’m just going to leave it.”

It’s not particularly surprising that Potrykus and the “Anora” director have been in communiqué over the years. Baker started making films a bit earlier, but both filmmakers grew in reputation as American indie favorites through the 2010’s, turning out breakouts like Baker’s fast-talking sex-work misadventure “Tangerine” and Potrykus’ couch potato slasher “Buzzard” — scrappy, funny features with bold characters, sidewinding storylines and a commitment to the grit of their street-level settings.

Potrykus is back in that saddle with his new, enigmatically titled film “Vulcanizadora.” Now expanding to Los Angeles at the Laemmle...

Image
Fast X premiered in 2023, marking the first entry in the high-octane franchise to end with a massive cliffhanger. Set to mark the penultimate entry in the Fast and Furious film series, Fast X is finding new success again.

The movie served as the tenth installment in the original series and the eleventh entry in the franchise. It brought back most of the cast from Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto's family and introduced Jason Momoa as the new villain. The movie had high stakes and, while fans await news about the upcomingFast X: Part 2, Fast X returned to the charts on Netflix, per Tudum.

Fast X entered the global charts with 3.1 million views and 7.2 million hours viewed for the week between Apr. 28 and May 4. The numbers are from one territory alone: Brazil, which made its debut in the global charts in fifth place even more impressive.

Of course, the Fast and...

Grief-stricken but so lovely, “After Yang” is Kogonada’s second feature after his much-celebrated debut “Columbus.” Ambitious but understated, “After Yang” is a low-flourish sci-fi that side-steps spectacle and uses the constructs of the genre to dig deeper into questions about life and nature. Ranking All 10 Fast and Furious Movies, Worst to Best
Image
If there’s one thing the Fast and Furious franchise has mastered, it’s reinvention. What started in 2001 as a movie about street racing and DVD player heists somehow morphed into a billion-dollar saga where cars fly, submarines chase Lamborghinis, and Vin Diesel defeats helicopters with a pair of Dodge Chargers. Over 10 movies (and counting), we’ve seen everything from rooftop chases in Rio to family barbecues that feel just as intense as the action scenes.

And through it all, Dom Toretto has reminded us, repeatedly, in case we forgot, that nothing is more important than family.

Of course, not every Fast & Furious movie is a nitrous-fueled masterpiece. Some entries turned the franchise into cinematic gold, while others, well, let’s just say they were running on fumes. The early movies were all about the underground racing scene, but as the franchise grew, so did its ambitions. By Fast Five,...

“This job is not easy for me”: Fast & Furious Star Who Left NCIS After 142 Episodes Because the Merciless Schedule Broke Him
Image
NCIS is one of the most iconic shows of all time. Despite having released twenty-two seasons, the series is still going strong. While willing actors and engaging stories are partly to credit for its lengthy run, the biggest reason why the show has been able to still air is because of its loyal fanbase. Sticking by it since 2003, their commitment and love for it help in it releasing more seasons every year.

However, it has become a persistent pattern where fan-favorite characters eventually leave the series. This has become so common that none of the original cast members are left. The perfect example of the same has to be The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift star and special agent Christopher Lasalle actor, Lucas Black.

It would seem that his reason for leaving the series showcases a bigger pattern that even made Mark Harmon almost walk out.

Why Jason Statham Didn't Join The Fast & Furious Franchise Earlier
Image
Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw has become an integral member of the "Fast & Furious" family. He's even received his own spinoff adventure at this point, having starred in 2019's "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw." It used to be a point of contention that the villainous mercenary turned Toretto family ally was forgiven so easily after being responsible for the death of fan-favorite Han (Sung Kang). "F9," however, somewhat cleared him of that charge real quick. Now, Deckard is just another member of the team, so much so it's easy to forget how explosive his first appearance was.

"Fast & Furious 6" was originally meant to serve as Han's final journey before the events of "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift," where he initially met his end. So, when the mid-credits scene started replaying Han's deadly crash, it meant that something else was right around the corner. The electricity in...

‘Fast & Furious’ Franchise Actor Sung Kang Signs With Buchwald
Image
Exclusive: Sung Kang, best known for his role as the popular ‘Han Lue’ in Universal’s billion-dollar Fast & Furious franchise, has signed with Buchwald for representation.

Kang most recently reprised his role in Fast X, continuing his journey which began on Justin Lin’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift when Han was believed to have died. He has reprised the role in the long-running action saga appearing in multiple installments, including Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and F9. The final installment of the franchise is expected to be Fast X: Part 2 which is set in Los Angeles. Kang’s participation in the film has yet to be confirmed.

Beyond the “Fast & Furious” universe, Kang has continued to expand his reach across film and television. Most recently, he starred opposite Luke Evans in Luc Besson’s action thriller Weekend in Taipei and Disney+’s Obi-Wan...

Dwayne Johnson Mourns His French Bulldog, Hobbs, After Heartbreaking Death
Image
Dwayne Johnson has shared a heartbreaking post on Instagram announcing the sad death of his French bulldog, Hobbs, who starred with him in the Fast & Furious spin off Hobbs and Shaw. Alongside a carousel of images and videos of his beloved pet, Johnson wrote an emotional tribute to the dog, saying:

“Rip Hobbs. I’ve been numb over this loss, but we’re so grateful for every ounce of pure love he gave our entire family and we’re so grateful he didn’t suffer long as he quietly and bravely left in the night. Lately, there’s been a lot that’s too big to talk about. Lonesome, lonely, heard it’s all the same. One of my favorite songs felt appropriate here, as I wonder what’s going on his new world, because I know what it’s like in mine. Not sure how spirits work but...

Reacher Season 3: Who Plays Xavier Quinn? Hollywood’s Most Underrated Villain We All Hated in ‘Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift’
Image
Quick ViewDrift King in the The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo DriftA corrupt politician in The WolverineShredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Out Of The Shadows

Reacher season 3 is drawing a lot of attention with this season’s lineup of formidable antagonists. Among them, Pauline is the most highlighted antagonist character because of his size, which clearly surpasses the protagonist Jack Reacher. But Pauline is not the only villain in this series. There is a looming presence of a mysterious man called Francis Xavier Quinn whose association with the events of the plot is undeniable.

Although Quinn is not present in the first three episodes of Reacher season 3, he emerges as the most deceitful villain that Reacher has faced. He is a ruthless and cunning character who is playing chess with Reacher, making him a true adversary who can challenge Reacher intellectually.

Why Xavier Quinn From Reacher Season 3 Looks So Familiar
Image
This article contains mild spoilers for "Reacher" Season 3.

"Reacher" Season 3 has received a lot of advance attention for its antagonist game. However, much of it has been directed at the hulking Paulie (Olivier Richters), whose gigantic frame makes even Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) look puny in comparison. While this is understandable from a visual standpoint, it's worth noting that Paulie is far from the only villain in the mix. Rug purveyor Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) seems to be up to very little good, and the looming presence of an ominous man called Francis Xavier Quinn is also hovering above the events.

While Quinn is largely absent from the show's first three episodes, he's heavily telegraphed to be the most devious villain Reacher has faced yet. The actor who's tasked with portraying the character is none other than Brian Tee, who happens to have plenty of experience in all levels...

Nicole Kidman’s Husband on ‘Expats,’ Brian Tee, Shot the Most Intense Scene with Her First
Image
Brian Tee has been an actor for years, playing a villain in “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” and with roles on “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Entourage,” and “Chicago Med.” One of his most challenging roles to date, however, was Clarke, the husband of Nicole Kidman’s character on Prime Video’s “Expats.” (Follow the full list of Film Independent Spirit Award winners here.)

The Lulu Wang-directed series, an adaptation of Janice Y.K. Lee’s novel “The Expatriates,” centered on a couple, played by Tee and Kidman, living in Hong Kong whose toddler son vanishes in a crowded marketplace. Clearly, he was abducted. It’s a harrowing moment — the absolute worst fear a parent could ever have — but remarkably, it was the very first scene Tee shot opposite Kidman for the show.

“I loved the project from inception, and Lulu Wang was kind of the genius and brainchild behind it...

When The Fast & The Furious Franchise Hired A Fake Director To Go To Jail In Japan For This Reason
Image
Here’s Why The Fast & Furious Franchise Once Hired A Fake Director (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

Shooting any The Fast & The Furious movie is always intense, but Tokyo Drift took things to a whole new level. Universal Pictures was so determined to film in Tokyo that they literally hired a fake director to go to jail. Yes, really. Japan isn’t exactly Hollywood-friendly when it comes to filming. However, director Justin Lin found that out the hard way when he wanted to shoot in Shibuya, one of the busiest spots in Tokyo.

“When we went to shoot in Tokyo, it’s a very different culture. They don’t give out film permits,” Lin revealed in an interview with Digital Spy. Instead of shutting down streets or blocking off locations, they had to roll with the chaos. “We would be setting up a scene, and people would just walk right through the set.

‘Reacher’ Season 3 Cast and Character Guide | Photos
Image
“Reacher” is back.

Based on the book series by Lee Child, the Prime Video series once again finds our titular hero (Alan Ritchson) getting off the bus and getting into trouble. This time he is in Maine, recruited by local DEA agents looking to bust a bad guy – and get back an informant who has gone missing. And wouldn’t you know it, this seemingly random encounter ties back to a case from Reacher’s past?

If you want to know more about this season, we will happily delve deep into the colorful cast of Season 3 characters.

Alan Ritchson Says 'Fast & Furious 11' Might Struggle With Filming Due to Big Star Names
Image
Alan Ritchson has found a home on Prime Video as Jack Reacher, but in 2023, he was lured away into the world of the Fast & Furious. Making his debut in Fast X, grabbing attention as Aimes, a formidable Agency player with shifting allegiances, fans quickly latched onto the idea that Ritchson might be back for the (possibly) final chapter of the Dom Toretto saga. It seems that Ritchson is keen for that to happen too with a return in Fast & Furious 11 – or Fast 11, F&F11, Fast XI or whatever else they choose to call it.

While Ritchson’s appearance in Fast X certainly makes it likely that he will be back again in the sequel, the actor recently pointed out in an interview with ScreenRant, that there is a big problem facing the production – namely its big-name cast. He said:

“We talk about it quite often. That is one of...

Vin Diesel Teases His 'Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots' Action Movie
Image
Fast and Furious and Riddick star Vin Diesel has his sights set on another heavy-hitting action franchise, with the actor taking to social media to tease his role in the upcoming adaptation of the classic toy game Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots. First announced back in 2021, the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots movie will see Mattel Films team up with Universal Pictures and Vin Diesel's One Race Films for this live-action adaptation of the beloved toy, which finds players taking control of two dueling robot boxers and smashing buttons until one of their heads comes off.

While it doesn’t initially seem like Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots has the depth needed for a movie, it’s likely that the adaptation will be akin to something like the 2011 sci-fi action outing, Real Steel. It is not yet known whether Vin Diesel will play a human or a robot in the movie,...

Why Vin Diesel Wasn’t in 2 Fast 2 Furious
Image
Quick LinksOriginally, Vin Diesel Wanted to Leave The Fast and the Furious AloneVin Diesel Became a Producer so He Could Have Creative Control

The Fast & Furious (also known as The Fast and the Furious) franchise is one of the largest ongoing franchises of the modern era. Everyone has heard of Fast & Furious and even if they aren't fans, they've probably seen a movie or two. The franchise is Universal Pictures' most successful franchise, with the Jurassic Park/Jurassic World franchise and the Despicable Me franchise not far behind.

When fans think about the Fast & Furious franchise, they likely think of fast cars, cool car chases, monologs about family, and, of course, Vin Diesel. Vin Diesel plays Dominic "Dom" Toretto in almost every Fast & Furious film out there, of which there are many. He even voiced Dom in an animated series called Fast and Furious Spy Racers (2019-2021) and the video game,...

Netflix is losing 22 movies and series this week
Image
It is always hard to say goodbye. Of course, to be honest, once a movie or series leaves Netflix unless it is a Netflix original, then the film or show is probably going to end up on some other streamer. Still, you don't want to have to subscribe to yet another service just to see a handful of shows. Netflix has almost all of what you need.

But if you need the movies or programs below, you will only have a short bit of time to catch them. They will leave Netflix this week, only to be replaced by other great stuff. But one of the below might be your favorite ever. Let's hope they return soon to your favorite streaming service.

Part of the items going away this week include a bunch of the Fast and the Furious films. These had no business ever being as good as they...

‘Fast & Furious’ Fans Hit the Brakes: Five Movies Leaving Netflix on February 12 – Here’s Where to Watch Them Instead
Image
Fast & Furious fans who stream their favorite action-packed films on Netflix will be disappointed this month. On February 12, 2025, the streaming service will remove five movies from the franchise, making it harder to watch the full series in one place. The titles leaving Netflix include:

‘The Fast and the Furious’ (2001) ‘2 Fast 2 Furious’ (2003) ‘The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift’ (2006) ‘Fast Five’ (2011) ‘Fast & Furious 6’ (2013)

While some of these movies will soon be available on another streaming platform, the franchise will be spread across multiple services, making it more difficult for fans to binge-watch the entire series.

Just a few days after they leave Netflix, NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, will add four ‘Fast & Furious’ films on February 15, 2025. Two of these movies (‘Fast Five’ and ‘Fast & Furious 6’) are part of the batch leaving Netflix, while the other two titles are:

‘Furious 7’ (2015) ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw...

Ludacris Says There Is Much More to Come From the Fast & Furious Saga
Image
The future of the Fast and Furious franchise has been doing more U-turns than the speeding vehicles featured in the high-octane movie saga. From talk of a two-part finale becoming three movies, more spinoffs heading into development, and Vin Diesel’s disgruntled wish for everyone to stop demanding so much and just let him get on and make a simple film about street racing, it is hard to know exactly when and where the Fast Saga will reach its conclusion. Now star Ludacris has murkied the waters a little more with new comments about what comes next.

Speaking to US Weekly, the rapper-turned-actor discussed his new Häagen-Dazs’ Super Bowl ad, which features his Fast costars Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, and explained how being “family” is something that doesn’t just end with the movies. He said:

“We don’t throw around that word family loosely,” the actor dished. “We say it all the time,...

Jason Statham fans, and particularly those of his appearances in the Fast & Furious franchise will have something to celebrate this February as several of his Fast movies will arrive on Peacock on February 15. Fast & Furious Would’ve Been A Very Different Franchise If This 19-Year-Old Movie Hadn’t Flopped
Image
The flop of one of the earlier movies in the Fast & Furious franchise led to the series completely changing course, and eventually turning into an action series. 2001's The Fast and the Furious was the first film in the long-running franchise, and was a grounded story about an undercover police officer who joined a group of street racers. At its core, the Fast & Furious franchise has always been about street racing, and the first few films in the series showcased this. However, it didn't take long for the Fast & Furious movies to become increasingly more action-packed.

2 Fast 2 Furious showed hints of the over-the-top action the franchise was capable of, but it was 2009's Fast & Furious, the fourth film in the series, that truly transformed the franchise from a series about street racing to pure action movies. The direction that Fast & Furious took was a result...

10 Best Movies Like Mad Max: Fury Road On Netflix
Image
Although Mad Max: Fury Road is a truly unique, one-of-a-kind movie, there are still plenty of other films out there for massive fans of the Best Picture nominee. George Miller’s gritty, stylized sequel takes all the brutal action and greasy car chases of his original series and updates it for modern audiences, resulting in one of the flashiest and most outlandish action movies of the past few decades. It’s a wasteland odyssey of immense proportions, and while few other projects have achieved the same quality, there are still many fun movies with similar premises to Mad Max.

George Miller's critically acclaimed sequel has made a home for itself on Netflix in recent years, and thankfully, many of its clearest inspirations can also be found on the streaming service. These are either movies that directly inspired Miller's filmmaking style, or simply those that have proven influential within the post-apocalyptic,...

‘Home Improvement’ Star Zachery Ty Bryan Arrested on Domestic Violence Charges
Image
Zachery Ty Bryan, who starred as the eldest son of Tim Allen’s lead on the ABC sitcom “Home Improvement,” was arrested Thursday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and charged with second-degree domestic violence. County booking and release records indicate that the 43-year-old former actor remains in custody and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Bryan has faced numerous run-ins with the law over the past few months. In October, the actor was arrested in Oklahoma on charges of driving under the influence and driving without a valid license. He had been arrested on a felony DUI charge and a misdemeanor contempt of court charge eight months prior.

This doesn’t mark Bryan’s first arrest on charges of domestic violence. In February 2021, he was charged with felony assault, third-degree robbery and assault in Oregon. He had been arrested for allegedly strangling his then-girlfriend, Johnny Faye Cartwright, in 2020. He...

‘Home Improvement’ Star Arrested Over Domestic Violence Charge
Image
One star from the 1990s sitcom, Home Improvement, has recently been arrested on charges of domestic violence. Notably, this isn’t the first time the star had been on such a charge. In addition, the actor appeared to have been physically injured during his arrest.

The Home Improvement Star Was Arrested On New Year’s Day

Home Improvement originally ran from 1991 to 1999. The series starred Tim Allen as Tim Taylor, a home improvement specialist with his own show. On the show, Tim balances his career with his family life, which includes his wife and three sons.

Zachery Ty Bryan played Brad Taylor, the eldest of Tim’s three sons, throughout the series. He lasted in the role until the series’ end in 1999. Notably, he was actually younger than co-star Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who played his younger brother on the show.

Fast & Furious Turned Toretto’s Family Into The Avengers 13 Years Ago, And The Franchise Hasn’t Been The Same Ever Since
Image
13 years ago, Fast & Furious 6 took Dominic Toretto's family and turned them into The Avengers, changing the franchise completely. When watching the Fast & Furious movies in order, Fast & Furious 6 is the sixth in release order, but only the fifth chronologically. The reason for this is the placement of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift on the timeline, with the ending of this film actively setting up Fast & Furious 6's true sequel, Furious 7, which is widely regarded as one of the best Fast & Furious movies.

Concerning Fast & Furious 6's ending, however, the film concludes with Dominic Toretto having his family completely together for one of the final times. The upcoming story of Fast 11 gives Dom a very different-looking family, both in terms of personnel but also in how the group operates within the franchise. Interestingly, it was Fast & Furious 6...

The Rock's Fast & Furious Return Means The Franchise's Most Underrated Duo Can Finally Come Back
Image
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson officially made his Fast & Furious return in 2023, and his involvement in the next film sets up an underrated duo's long-awaited reunion. Having first appeared in 2011's Fast Five, The Rock's Luke Hobbs became a major part of the franchise, featuring in a total of 6 Fast & Furious movies, including his Hobbs & Shaw spinoff. The actor's feud with Vin Diesel did result in Hobbs being absent from F9, but thankfully, Dwayne Johnson returned in Fast X, meaning he will once again have a crucial role in the final mainline movie.

Despite the saga coming to an end, the action franchise seems likely to continue through spinoffs, with Johnson already having a project in the works. The Rock confirmed that Fast & Furious was developing a solo Hobbs spinoff, presumably in an attempt to follow up Hobbs & Shaw's success while cashing in on Johnson's star power.

Who Is Reacher Season 3's Main Villain? All 3 New Enemies Explained
Image
Reacher season 3 is set to be the most intense and exciting so far, introducing several new characters to pose even more threats to the Amazon Prime show's seemingly indestructible protagonist. Reacher season 2 ended with the separation of many of the show's central characters, but given its anthology approach to storytelling, there's plenty of room for them to return for a new adventure in season 3. The show is continually dragging Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher into increasingly dangerous situations, and judging by everything that is known about the third season, that won't be changing any time soon.

The story of Reacher season 3 will be loosely inspired by Lee Child's novel Persuader, which is one of the most popular and dynamic stories in the author's long-running franchise. The book sees Reacher infiltrate a dangerous drug operation and rescue an undercover police officer from those who are beginning to suspect his true identity.

Shocking Brian O’Conner Stat Reveals A Harsh Reality About The Fast & Furious Franchise
Image
Given how long Brian O'Conner was a central part of Fast & Furious for, a shocking statistic about the character highlights one harsh reality about the iconic movie franchise. The action series is one of the biggest blockbusters around, having grossed over $7 billion throughout its 11 films, but despite its impressive profit and longevity, Fast & Furious is far from perfect. Despite many fans still loving the saga, Fast & Furious' ridiculous stunts and unrealistic action sequences have come under fire in recent years, but the franchise has still come out on top given its remarkable success.

Unfortunately, with Fast & Furious 11 set to be the final movie, the series will forever be full of missed opportunities. Although there will likely be future spinoffs set in the same universe - like Hobbs & Shaw - the central story will come to a close in F&f 11, putting an end to the large ensemble casts.

Fast & Furious Franchise’s Endgame Gets Update From Vin Diesel As He Teases Return Of Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs: “A Reunion Of That Beautiful Brotherhood”
Image
Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel shares an update on the franchise's plan for an endgame, including how many more movies there will be and Dwayne Johnson's return as Luke Hobbs. After the first installment back in 2001, Diesel returned as Dom Toretto last year for Fast X, the tenth installment in the Fast Saga. Fast X: Part 2 is now confirmed to be on the way (and is seemingly in production) and a Hobbs spinoff movie was announced last year, but it remains unclear just how many more movies there will actually be in the franchise.

Diesel now takes to Instagram to share a new update on the plans for the end of the Fast & Furious franchise, revealing, essentially, that it may not yet be set in stone. According to the star and producer, there's continued interest from Comcast in there being a Fast & Furious 12, in addition to...

Hobbs & Shaw writer talks working on a sequel and glows over Christopher Nolan’s fandom of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Image
Screenwriter Chris Morgan has been a big contributor to the Fast & Furious franchise, having started with the series’ third entry, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and writing each sequel up to The Fate of the Furious. Morgan would opt to work on the spin-off Hobbs & Shaw for Dwayne Johnson and the business partnership would continue as he also wrote the script for Johnson’s latest Christmas movie Red One. The Hollywood Reporter recently sat down with Morgan as he talks the future of the Fast & Furious franchise and how another Hobbs movie was supposed to fit in.

After Johnson made a surprise cameo appearance in Fast X, fans of the franchise breathed a sigh of relief as he and Diesel seemed to have put their differences aside for one more collaboration and the stage had been set for Hobbs to re-join the family. It was once...

‘Red One’ Writer Talks Film’s Hopeful Ending, ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ Sequel and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tokyo Drift’ Fandom
Image
Writer-producer Chris Morgan was on the set of Hobbs & Shaw when Dwayne Johnson’s right-hand man, Hiram Garcia, started sharing his idea for Red One. They were shooting the Fast & Furious spinoff’s complicated car and helicopter chase near a cliff in Kauai and, with red dirt flying everywhere, Morgan admits he could only pay so much attention to the premise at the time. But that evening, Garcia, who’s the president of Johnson’s Seven Bucks production company, persisted, opting to pitch the action-comedy’s overall plot involving Santa’s (J.K. Simmons) abduction and his head of security (Johnson) having to team up with a complicit rogue (Chris Evans) to recover him.

“I was prepared not to, but I really, really loved it. I was like, ‘I actually think you have a hopeful message that’s really cool and that the world could use.’ So we agreed to...

Vin Diesel & Paul Walkers Exits From Fast & Furious Taught The Franchise A Lesson That Has Been Forgotten Since Furious 7
Image
Despite its humble beginnings, Fast & Furious has turned into one of the biggest action franchises in modern cinema, but ever since Furious 7, the saga has seemingly forgotten its biggest lesson from Vin Diesel and Paul Walker's exits. Dom Toretto (Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Walker) have been the main protagonists of the franchise since the very first movie, but both characters have been absent from several projects. Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto was replaced by Roman Pearce in Fast & Furious' second outing, while Paul Walker has been written out of the recent films, having sadly passed away in 2013.

They also both missed Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift, which appeared to be a huge wake-up call for Universal, but despite initially learning from its mistakes, the saga continued even after Walker's death. While Fast & Furious 11 is set to end the box office juggernaut's main story, the IP has become so...

Image
When it comes to Christmas movies, "sexy" isn't typically the first, or probably even second, descriptor to come to mind. Chad Michael Murray and Dustin Milligan are spreading holiday cheer in their movies The Merry Gentlemen and Hot Frosty. The titles of both suggest a certain level of hotness akin to a steaming cup of cocoa. Paul Walker's Fast & Furious Replacement Came Out 4 Years Before His Brian Return And Is One Of His Most Underrated Films
Image
During Paul Walkers brief absence from Fast & Furious, he starred in Into the Blue and it couldve been the actors replacement action-adventure franchise. After playing Brian OConner in The Fast and the Furious and its first sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Walker was missing from the threequel, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. He only returned to the role of Brian in 2009s soft reboot, simply titled Fast & Furious, which moved away from the series focus on street racing and turned it into a more straightforward action movie franchise.

While Brian is undoubtedly Walkers most iconic character, he had a very respectable career outside the Fast & Furious franchise, too. He played a notorious bank robber in the heist movie Takers, he played a parole breaker in the car chase movie Vehicle 19, and he played a low-level mafioso in the neo-noir thriller Running Scared. One of Walkers starring vehicles,...

Netflix’s New Releases Coming in November 2024
Image
A topical historical drama depicting the creation of IVF; a paranoid thriller series starring Colman Domingo; a bracingly original crime musical, and awards contender, from Jacques Audiard; the second part of the final season of Cobra Kai; and a reverential big-screen adaptation of a Pulitzer-winning August Wilson play are some of the highlights among the new films and series hitting Netflix in November.

On Nov. 7, action and mystery drama Outer Banks returns to Netflix. The first half of season four ended with several cliff-hangers for the Pogues, many of which should be resolved, to some degree, in the second half of the season. Over on Kildare Island, Rudy Pankow’s JJ probably gets the biggest bomb dropped on him when he learns that he’s not the son of his alcoholic and abusive father, Luke. The cast have promised “craziness” so expect some more jaw-dropping revelations.

In a big movie month for Netflix,...

Fast & Furious 11 Will Officially Give Justice To Han 20 Years After His Tokyo Drift Death
Image
Fast & Furious 11 is set to be the final installment in the main Fast Saga, and it will also officially deliver justice for Han's death in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Its also likely that Fast & Furious 11 will see the return of several characters who have been absent from the saga for a while, as this is something that the series has been known to do before. The film has been marketed as a celebration of the franchise, and this wouldnt be possible without returning to plot threads that havent been fully resolved.

Not much is known about Fast & Furious 11s plot, but the cliffhanger ending of Fast X clearly sets up some details that will need to be resolved before Dom Torettos story can be drawn to a close. One of these major details was the return of Gal Gadots character Gisele, who seemingly died at the end of Fast & Furious 6.

The Most Bizarre Fast & Furious Scene Had Nothing To Do With Cars And Still Doesnt Make Sense 7 Years Later
Image
Seven years after the release of The Fate of the Furious, there is still one scene that makes no sense and is removed from the unbelievable car stunts the franchise has become known for. While the wait for Fast 11's story goes on, many are turning their attention back to the earlier films in the franchise. The discourse surrounding the franchise and how it is viewed in retrospect is certainly interesting, with some viewing the pre-Fast Five stories as the best-ranked Fast & Furious movies, while others prefer the high-octane, exaggerated action films that have spawned since then.

When watching the Fast & Furious movies in release date order, it was Fast Five that ushered in this change. The more immediate sequels to the 2011 movie, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, and The Fate of the Furious can be seen as the films that capitalized the most on this change.
