Joel Potrykus doesn’t want to blow up Sean Baker’s phone.

“I asked him if he would moderate this Q&a. I made the mistake of putting a money incentive in there,” Potrykus confesses. “It immediately felt weird. I should have never mentioned money at all. He always replies… I’m just going to leave it.”

It’s not particularly surprising that Potrykus and the “Anora” director have been in communiqué over the years. Baker started making films a bit earlier, but both filmmakers grew in reputation as American indie favorites through the 2010’s, turning out breakouts like Baker’s fast-talking sex-work misadventure “Tangerine” and Potrykus’ couch potato slasher “Buzzard” — scrappy, funny features with bold characters, sidewinding storylines and a commitment to the grit of their street-level settings.

Fast X premiered in 2023, marking the first entry in the high-octane franchise to end with a massive cliffhanger. Set to mark the penultimate entry in the Fast and Furious film series, Fast X is finding new success again.

The movie served as the tenth installment in the original series and the eleventh entry in the franchise. It brought back most of the cast from Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto's family and introduced Jason Momoa as the new villain. The movie had high stakes and, while fans await news about the upcomingFast X: Part 2, Fast X returned to the charts on Netflix, per Tudum.

Fast X entered the global charts with 3.1 million views and 7.2 million hours viewed for the week between Apr. 28 and May 4. The numbers are from one territory alone: Brazil, which made its debut in the global charts in fifth place even more impressive.

What started in 2001 as a movie about street racing and DVD player heists somehow morphed into a billion-dollar saga where cars fly, submarines chase Lamborghinis, and Vin Diesel defeats helicopters with a pair of Dodge Chargers. Over 10 movies (and counting), we’ve seen everything from rooftop chases in Rio to family barbecues that feel just as intense as the action scenes.

And through it all, Dom Toretto has reminded us, repeatedly, in case we forgot, that nothing is more important than family.

Of course, not every Fast & Furious movie is a nitrous-fueled masterpiece. Some entries turned the franchise into cinematic gold, while others, well, let’s just say they were running on fumes. NCIS is one of the most iconic shows of all time. Despite having released twenty-two seasons, the series is still going strong. While willing actors and engaging stories are partly to credit for its lengthy run, the biggest reason why the show has been able to still air is because of its loyal fanbase. Sticking by it since 2003, their commitment and love for it help in it releasing more seasons every year.

However, it has become a persistent pattern where fan-favorite characters eventually leave the series. This has become so common that none of the original cast members are left. The perfect example of the same has to be The Fast & the Furious: Tokyo Drift star and special agent Christopher Lasalle actor, Lucas Black.

It would seem that his reason for leaving the series showcases a bigger pattern that even made Mark Harmon almost walk out.

Jason Statham's Deckard Shaw has become an integral member of the "Fast & Furious" family. He's even received his own spinoff adventure at this point, having starred in 2019's "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw." Exclusive: Sung Kang, best known for his role as the popular ‘Han Lue’ in Universal’s billion-dollar Fast & Furious franchise, has signed with Buchwald for representation.

Kang most recently reprised his role in Fast X, continuing his journey which began on Justin Lin’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift when Han was believed to have died. He has reprised the role in the long-running action saga appearing in multiple installments, including Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and F9. Reacher season 3 is drawing a lot of attention with this season’s lineup of formidable antagonists. Among them, Pauline is the most highlighted antagonist character because of his size, which clearly surpasses the protagonist Jack Reacher. But Pauline is not the only villain in this series. There is a looming presence of a mysterious man called Francis Xavier Quinn whose association with the events of the plot is undeniable.

Although Quinn is not present in the first three episodes of Reacher season 3, he emerges as the most deceitful villain that Reacher has faced. He is a ruthless and cunning character who is playing chess with Reacher, making him a true adversary who can challenge Reacher intellectually.

"Reacher" Season 3 has received a lot of advance attention for its antagonist game. However, much of it has been directed at the hulking Paulie (Olivier Richters), whose gigantic frame makes even Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) look puny in comparison. While this is understandable from a visual standpoint, it's worth noting that Paulie is far from the only villain in the mix. Rug purveyor Zachary Beck (Anthony Michael Hall) seems to be up to very little good, and the looming presence of an ominous man called Francis Xavier Quinn is also hovering above the events.

While Quinn is largely absent from the show's first three episodes, he's heavily telegraphed to be the most devious villain Reacher has faced yet. The actor who's tasked with portraying the character is none other than Brian Tee, who happens to have plenty of experience in all levels...

Shooting any The Fast & The Furious movie is always intense, but Tokyo Drift took things to a whole new level. Universal Pictures was so determined to film in Tokyo that they literally hired a fake director to go to jail. Yes, really. Japan isn’t exactly Hollywood-friendly when it comes to filming. However, director Justin Lin found that out the hard way when he wanted to shoot in Shibuya, one of the busiest spots in Tokyo.

“When we went to shoot in Tokyo, it’s a very different culture. They don’t give out film permits,” Lin revealed in an interview with Digital Spy. Instead of shutting down streets or blocking off locations, they had to roll with the chaos. “We would be setting up a scene, and people would just walk right through the set.

“Reacher” is back.

Based on the book series by Lee Child, the Prime Video series once again finds our titular hero (Alan Ritchson) getting off the bus and getting into trouble. This time he is in Maine, recruited by local DEA agents looking to bust a bad guy – and get back an informant who has gone missing. And wouldn’t you know it, this seemingly random encounter ties back to a case from Reacher’s past?

Alan Ritchson has found a home on Prime Video as Jack Reacher, but in 2023, he was lured away into the world of the Fast & Furious. Making his debut in Fast X, grabbing attention as Aimes, a formidable Agency player with shifting allegiances, fans quickly latched onto the idea that Ritchson might be back for the (possibly) final chapter of the Dom Toretto saga. Fast & Furious fans who stream their favorite action-packed films on Netflix will be disappointed this month. On February 12, 2025, the streaming service will remove five movies from the franchise, making it harder to watch the full series in one place. The titles leaving Netflix include:

Zachery Ty Bryan, who starred as the eldest son of Tim Allen’s lead on the ABC sitcom “Home Improvement,” was arrested Thursday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and charged with second-degree domestic violence. County booking and release records indicate that the 43-year-old former actor remains in custody and is being held on a $10,000 bond.

Bryan has faced numerous run-ins with the law over the past few months. In October, the actor was arrested in Oklahoma on charges of driving under the influence and driving without a valid license. He had been arrested on a felony DUI charge and a misdemeanor contempt of court charge eight months prior.

This doesn’t mark Bryan’s first arrest on charges of domestic violence. In February 2021, he was charged with felony assault, third-degree robbery and assault in Oregon. He had been arrested for allegedly strangling his then-girlfriend, Johnny Faye Cartwright, in 2020. He...

One star from the 1990s sitcom, Home Improvement, has recently been arrested on charges of domestic violence. Notably, this isn’t the first time the star had been on such a charge. In addition, the actor appeared to have been physically injured during his arrest.

13 years ago, Fast & Furious 6 took Dominic Toretto's family and turned them into The Avengers, changing the franchise completely. When watching the Fast & Furious movies in order, Fast & Furious 6 is the sixth in release order, but only the fifth chronologically. The reason for this is the placement of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift on the timeline, with the ending of this film actively setting up Fast & Furious 6's true sequel, Furious 7, which is widely regarded as one of the best Fast & Furious movies.

Concerning Fast & Furious 6's ending, however, the film concludes with Dominic Toretto having his family completely together for one of the final times. The actor's feud with Vin Diesel did result in Hobbs being absent from F9, but thankfully, Dwayne Johnson returned in Fast X, meaning he will once again have a crucial role in the final mainline movie.

Despite the saga coming to an end, the action franchise seems likely to continue through spinoffs, with Johnson already having a project in the works. The Rock confirmed that Fast & Furious was developing a solo Hobbs spinoff, presumably in an attempt to follow up Hobbs & Shaw's success while cashing in on Johnson's star power.

Reacher season 3 is set to be the most intense and exciting so far, introducing several new characters to pose even more threats to the Amazon Prime show's seemingly indestructible protagonist. Reacher season 2 ended with the separation of many of the show's central characters, but given its anthology approach to storytelling, there's plenty of room for them to return for a new adventure in season 3. The show is continually dragging Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher into increasingly dangerous situations, and judging by everything that is known about the third season, that won't be changing any time soon.

The story of Reacher season 3 will be loosely inspired by Lee Child's novel Persuader, which is one of the most popular and dynamic stories in the author's long-running franchise. The book sees Reacher infiltrate a dangerous drug operation and rescue an undercover police officer from those who are beginning to suspect his true identity.

Fast & Furious 11 is gearing up to begin production in early 2025. Ahead of filming, franchise star Jordana Brewster shared that she hopes the movie, which is believed to be the final installment in the series, goes out the way it began.

While speaking with MovieWeb about her new movie Cellar Door, Brewster touched on her forthcoming return as Mia Toretto, the younger sister of Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto, in Fast & Furious 11. With the Fast X sequel expected to be the last main entry in the long-running franchise, the actor shared what she would like to see happen in the movie. "I hope with the last one if it is the last one that it kind of goes back to the first ones roots, because that one, that and five are my favorite," she shared, "so I would love for it to have that same feel."

Fast & Furious 11 is set to be the final installment in the main Fast Saga, and it will also officially deliver justice for Han's death in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Its also likely that Fast & Furious 11 will see the return of several characters who have been absent from the saga for a while, as this is something that the series has been known to do before. The film has been marketed as a celebration of the franchise, and this wouldnt be possible without returning to plot threads that havent been fully resolved.

Not much is known about Fast & Furious 11s plot, but the cliffhanger ending of Fast X clearly sets up some details that will need to be resolved before Dom Torettos story can be drawn to a close. One of these major details was the return of Gal Gadots character Gisele, who seemingly died at the end of Fast & Furious 6.

Seven years after the release of The Fate of the Furious, there is still one scene that makes no sense and is removed from the unbelievable car stunts the franchise has become known for. While the wait for Fast 11's story goes on, many are turning their attention back to the earlier films in the franchise. The discourse surrounding the franchise and how it is viewed in retrospect is certainly interesting, with some viewing the pre-Fast Five stories as the best-ranked Fast & Furious movies, while others prefer the high-octane, exaggerated action films that have spawned since then.

When watching the Fast & Furious movies in release date order, it was Fast Five that ushered in this change. The more immediate sequels to the 2011 movie, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, and The Fate of the Furious can be seen as the films that capitalized the most on this change.
