Benjamin Gates must follow a clue left in John Wilkes Booth's diary to prove his ancestor's innocence in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
The guy who gets his car stolen by Ed Harris in London is the same guy who got his Hummer stolen by Sir Sean Connery in The Rock (1996), another of Jerry Bruckheimer's movies which also starred Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris.
He's in the other room.
The President reveals the six-dial combination lock and the door code to the XY section of the library to Ben. Ben tries to remember the codes by saying them out loud three times before he gets into his dad's car. He never mentions about them again until he meets about with Abigail and Riley at the Library. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour to go to the Library of Congress from George Washington's Mount Vernon. It would have been impossible for him to remember all those code numbers for that length of time with all those distractions. He would have also gotten them all mixed up too.
The Jerry Bruckheimer logo becomes a real life version of itself as a road some Union soldiers walk along towards 1865 Washington DC.
