A law firm brings in its "fixer" to remedy the situation after a lawyer has a breakdown while representing a chemical company that he knows is guilty in a multibillion-dollar class action suit.
Early on in the process of making this film, director Tony Gilroy secured Sydney Pollack as one of the producers. Gilroy said in an interview, regarding Pollack, "He read the script and wanted to direct it himself, and I told him I was saving it for me."
Michael. Dear Michael. Of course it's you, who else could they send, who else could be trusted? I... I know it's a long way and you're ready to go to work... all I'm saying is wait, just wait, just-just-just... please hear me out because this is not...
Michael started with the firm in 1990, and has been there for 17 years. While speaking to Marty, he reflects on his state in life, and claims to be 45 years old. He was born in 1959, so he should be 47 or 48. He may be lying about his age.
