Who Almost Played the Dark Knight?

It's tough to picture anyone other than Christian Bale as Batman in Christopher Nolan's trilogy, but plenty of other actors were considered. See who they were.

Who did Bale beat for Batman?

| Fantastic!
Im just gonna start off by saying I LOVE this movie. Its one of my favorites of all time. I honestly cant think of too much wrong with this movie other than its a little long and Batmans by now infamous voice. But everything else is top notch. The acting, story, atmosphere, and actions scenes are all amazing. If you haven't seen this movie see it right now! I went into this not expecting to much but I came out blown away, I cant imagine any movie being much better. I'll just have to wait for The Dark Knight Rises to release to see if anything can be better. Until then, this stands as the best movie I've ever seen

Trivia

Ironically Commissioner Loeb tells Gordon, "You're unlikely to discover this for yourself" about what being a police commissioner is like. Even people who didn't know Gordon would be Commissioner after Loeb's death were reasonably assured he would eventually follow a similar career path to the comics.

Quotes

Grumpy: Three of a kind, let's do this!
Chuckles: Huh, that's it? Three guys?
Grumpy: Plus two guys on the roof. Every guy gets a share. Five shares is plenty.
Chuckles: *Six* shares. Don't forget the guy who planned the job.
Grumpy: He thinks he can sit it out and still take a slice? I know ...

Goofs

(at around 1h 35 mins) After the explosion at the warehouse, a fire hose is seen playing a jet of water from side to side across the top of the burning rubble. While this looks very pretty, a professional firefighter would never do this. They would concentrate the water at the base of the fire then work their way slowly across the blaze.

Crazy Credits

Christian Bale is credited with playing "Bruce Wayne" but not "Batman" in the closing credits.

Alternate Versions

The Blu-ray version of the movie has several of the big action scenes and high altitude photography scenes in ordinary 16:9 (1.78:1) widescreen ratio while the rest of the movie preserves the "scope" format (2.39:1). This is because these scenes were filmed in IMAX, whose format is 1.44:1, thus attempting to recreate the effect witnessed in IMAX theatres, as well as preserving as much of these shots as possible.
