The Bridgerton-verse is ruling Netflix.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story kept its crown for the week of May 8 to May 14, coming it at No. 1 among the streamer’s English-language TV series with another 158.68M hours viewed. Since it debuted on May 4, Queen Charlotte has now amassed 307M hours viewed and is quickly making its way to becoming one of Netflix’s most popular series of all time.
Currently sitting at No. 10 on the most popular list is Inventing Anna with 511M hours viewed in its first 28 days. With 16 more days in the 28-day measurement window, it seems likely that Queen Charlotte will meet that threshold. If it does, it will join both seasons of Bridgerton among Netflix’s most-watched series of all time. Each season drew more than 600M hours viewed in their first 28 days on the service.

Dearest readers, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is the talk of the ton.
The Shonda Rhimes prequel series quickly established its reign over Netflix‘s English-language TV charts for the week of May 1 to 7, amassing 148.28M viewing hours in its first weekend on the streamer.
Such a strong start for the series could indicate it will join both seasons of Bridgerton among Netflix’s most-watched series of all time. Each season drew more than 600M hours viewed in their first 28 days on the service.
The last Netflix series to make the list was The Night Agent, which had a record debut week in March when it managed 168.7M hours viewed in its first few days on the streamer. It dominated viewing on Netflix for several weeks and settled at No. 5 on the all-time list, surpassing Bridgerton Season 1.

Fremantle’s Fiction Valley Ties With ‘Dirty Lines’ Creator Pieter Bart Korthuis
Fremantle label Fiction Valley has struck a three-year deal with Netflix’s Dirty Lines creator and showrunner Pieter Bart Korthuis. The agreement will see Fiction Valley, which is run by Annemike van Vliet, develop and produce a slate of scripted drama series from Korthuis, one of Holland’s leading creatives. The pair have already tied on Dirty Lines, Netflix’s series about late-1980s Amsterdam and Korthuis’ other work includes political series The Year of Fortuyn and Penoza. Fiction Valley’s credits include Suspects and a remake of The A-Word. “Pieter’s extraordinary talent as creator, writer, director and showrunner is unique and beyond limits,” said van Vliet. Striking talent deals and acquiring labels is a key plank of Fremantle’s strategy at the moment and the group signed a landmark deal with Angelina Jolie earlier this year.

As we seem to be in the middle of a disaster-movie revival (the Rock alone has topped neuvo variations on “Earthquake” and “The Towering Inferno”), it seems sensible enough that someone should blow the dust off 1977’s lesser-remembered 1976 “Two-Minute Warning,” in which a sniper terrorized an American football stadium. (The “disaster” part was really the panicked crowd stampede at the end.) Though actually what “Final Score” is most like, as the press materials duly note, is “‘Die Hard’ in a football stadium.”
If you think that sounds fun, you’d be right: Park your brain cells in the lobby, and this U.K. production about a terrorist attack on a London soccer stadium — with Dave Bautista as Bruce Willis plus 100 or so extra pounds of muscle — is an entertainingly over-the-top ride that doesn’t even try to be “credible.” It’s not quite daft or otherwise distinctive enough to be memorable.

35,000 lives. 90 minutes. No extra time.
Saban Films has released the full trailer for their upcoming action movie Final Score. The film stars Dave Bautista, Pierce Brosnan, and Ray Stevenson. It definitely looks like a badass action thriller worth checking out!
The movie is set in a football stadium in England. When a group of heavily armed criminals takes control of the stadium while it's packed with 35,000 spectators, ex-soldier Michael Knox (Bautista) is forced to use skills from his military background and everything at his disposal to save the hostages, including the life of a fallen comrade's daughter.
The film was directed by Scott Mann and written by Jonathan Frank, and brothers David T. Lynch and Keith Lynch.
The movie also stars Lucy Gaskell, Julian Cheung, Lara Peake, Alexandra Dinu, and Ralph Brown.
The film will hit theaters and on September 14th, 2018.

"The clock is ticking... Tick, tock." Saban Films + Sky Cinema have released the full-length, official trailer for an action movie titled Final Score, from British director Scott Mann. After deadly terrorists abduct his niece at a soccer match, an ex-soldier with lethal fighting skills wages a one-man war to save her and prevent mass destruction. Dave Bautista stars in this, along with Pierce Brosnan, Ray Stevenson, Martyn Ford, Ralph Brown, Alexandra Dinu, and Lucy Gaskell. This reminds me a lot of the 90s action movie Sudden Death with Jcvd, also set in a stadium, and the filmmakers have admitted that was a major inspiration. This looks kind of awesome! No thanks to Bautista kicking ass, even though it seems cheesy but still fun. Some scores will never be settled. Here's the full-length Us trailer (+ UK poster) for Scott Mann's Final Score, direct from YouTube: You can still watch the...

"It's all about to kick off." Sky Cinema has debuted an official teaser trailer for an action film titled Final Score, from British director Scott Mann. This film seems like kind of a remake of Sudden Death (even with the same kind of cheesy title), that actual film from the 90s with Jean-Claude Van Damme where they take over a hockey arena. But this time it's a football stadium in England. Which is why this teaser is being released during the World Cup. Only one man can save all the footballs fans - and he is Drax. Er, sorry. Dave Bautista stars in this, along with Pierce Brosnan, Ray Stevenson, Martyn Ford, Ralph Brown, Alexandra Dinu, and Lucy Gaskell. This actually doesn't look bad, though I know it's just a teaser. I kind of want to see this, hopefully it's not so bad. Here's the first teaser trailer for Scott...

Nobody knows action movies better than the minds behind John Wick: Chapter 2, director Chad Stahelski and stunt coordinator J.J. Perry. Both have been in the business for decades, though most people probably don't know their names. They started as stunt performers, doubling for the stars of movies like Blade, Point Break, Mortal Kombat, The Matrix, and 300. They both have also been the stunt coordinators and/or second unit directors for action in movies like Captain America: Civil War, The Hunger Games, Warrior, The Tournament, and even the upcoming The Fate of the Furious. Basically, Stahelski and Perry really, really, really know their stuff. So when we asked them for a simple list of their top five action movies they thought people should see before they die, they...

And then there's stuff like "Heist," which, when added to the mix of projects, gives De Niro's slate an air of unpredictability. It's another entry in his growing canon of low-rent movies, and for the curious, the first trailer is here. It may be a low-budget affair, but the $15 million film Bus 657 is attracting quite a cast. Deadline is reporting that, aside from all ready nabbing Robert De Niro, the cast will now also include Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen) and Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns). The film, which is set to start filming next month, will center on a heist and the subsequent hostage situation that ensues after it.
Morgan plays a desperate man with a sick daughter and seemingly no way to pay for her necessary treatment. When a greedy co-worker played by Dave Bautista (Guardians of The Galaxy) suggests that they rob a casino as a way to get the necessary cash, it sets a dangerous plan in motion that eventually includes the two men capturing a bus full of innocent people. With three films in post-production and two more (including Russell Crowe's The Water Diviner) on the way, these are busy times for Olga Kurylenko. She's managed to squeeze in one more project, however, in the form of Mara, a supernatural horror thriller from debut director Clive Tonge. Jonathan Frank (The Tournament) wrote the screenplay.Mara's high concept is centred on sleep paralysis and Sudden Unexpected Nocturnal Death Syndrome. Kurylenko plays criminal psychologist Kate Fuller, assigned to look into an apparent murder in which the victim seems to have been killed in his sleep by his wife. The only witness is eight-year-old Sophie. But Fuller's investigations lead to the legend of an ancient folk demon, and gaining its attention leads Fuller to experience similar ordeals to previous victims as she struggles to escape the curse. So what's Mara? We're guessing the demon, which takes various forms in various cultures.

Here is the trailer for Assassination Game starring Jean Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins (Bourne Ultimatum, Wolverine, The Tournament). The movie is set for a limited theatrical release this month. Check out the trailer for the film below, which looks to be a lot of fun.
Synopsis:
Brazil (Jean Claude Van Damme) is a contract killer, willing to take any job if the price is right. Flint (Scott Adkins) left the assassin game when a ruthless drug dealer’s brutal attack left his wife in a coma. When a contract is put out on the same coldblooded drug dealer, both Brazil and Flint want him dead – one for the money, the other for revenge. With crooked Interpol agents and vicious members of the criminal underworld hot on their trail, these two assassins reluctantly join forces to quickly take out their target before they themselves are terminated.

"If I overreacted, you'd be dead." Yes! How about some Jean-Claude Van Damme to spice up your long weekend. I recently stumbled across this official trailer for an upcoming Jcvd flick called Assassination Games that co-stars Scott Adkins (seen in Bourne Ultimatum, Wolverine, The Tournament). While this may look a little direct-to-dvd, apparently it is getting a limited theatrical release in the Us this month. It's Van Damme's first theatrical action movie in the Us in over a decade (besides Universal Soldier) and his latest theatrical film since Jcvd. There's lots of action and big fights, and loud music, so have fun with this! Check out the latest official trailer for Ernie Barbarash's Assassination Games (via YouTube): (The sound is quite bad and that's how it originally came, but we'll update it soon as possible.) Scott Adkins and Jean Claude Van Damme play rival assassins who are each masters of their respective weapons. Probably why the movie was previously known as "Weapon." The film by Ernie Barbarash is expected to go direct to DVD.
Synopsis:
Jack Conway and Derek Chase are the two best assassins in the world-but unknown to each other. While Conway is a master sharpshooter, Chase is equally skilled with a knife. These two rival assassins form an uneasy alliance to take down the head of a drug cartel, which is backed by the DEA.
It's pretty cool to see these two great screen fighters going head to head. I've admired Adkins' work in The Tournament, Ninja and most recently Undisputed III and I hope to see him (and Jcvd) in more and bigger films to come.

A few years back we heard some vague reports [1] about The Weinstein Company putting together a remake of Akira Kurosawa's classic 1954 film Seven Samurai. For a while there it seemed like nothing was actually going to come of this (which probably would have been for the best), but now this week we have an update on the project and it looks like it is still moving forward. The Weinsteins have hired a director for the project, and from their choice it seems clear that they are more interested in capitalizing on the name than orchestrating a proper tribute to Kurosawa. British director Scott Mann (The Tournament) will be helming the remake, and while I'm sure it's a great career opportunity, I certainly don't envy him one bit. According to Variety [2], Mann will direct from a script written by John Fusco (The Forbidden Kingdom, Young Guns). The story has been...

Variety has reported that Scott Mann of Mann Made Films has signed on to direct the upcoming remake of Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 masterpiece Seven Samurai. Mann’s previous work includes The Tournament, and Down Amongst The Dead Men, so he seems an interesting choice for The Weinstein Company (TWC), especially given the success of the first Seven Samurai. Since the announcement of the project, many have been critical of TWC’s decision. Some feel the original 1954 version should stand for itself, and others have pointed to The Magnificent Seven as being more than enough remake for one story. However we’ll see what happens.
Writer John Fusco, whose previous work includes The Forbidden Kingdom, and Young Guns, has been penning the screenplay for TWC, and some information has already been released. The upcoming remake will attempt to translate the original story into something a bit more contemporary, and will not take place in Japan.
