Serious is a complex, multi-dimensional character; on one side she is a Special Forces-trained killer working for a nefarious organization called The Committee, which hopes to own the Presidency. On the other side, she is an emotionally torn introvert, the product of an abusive childhood, who must deal with feelings of guilt over her sister's mysterious death. Unlike her previous assignments, Serious is hired to terminate JERRI, an innocent nanny for a corrupt senator with ties to The Committee. Serious reneges on the deal. Her actions result in a deadly cat and mouse game where she's forced to battle her deadly colleagues to keep the nanny alive long enough to uncover the truth behind the assassination attempt. Serious and Jerri develop a sister-like bond during the ordeal and Serious ultimately relies on Jerri's inner strength and compassion to come to terms with her sister's death.
Serious Rogers is in the business of murder...and she's very good! She's a female mercenary who unwittingly does work for an extremist group called The Committee. When Serious loses her estranged sister to a mysterious affliction, her personal and professional worlds collide, resulting in her last-second decision to spare the life of her next target - Jerri, the Nanny. Jerri presents a threat to the secrecy of the Committee having inadvertently overheard incriminating evidence that her boss, a US Senator, is involved in the Committee's domestic terrorist activities. Emotionally off-balance by Jerri's resemblance to her sister, Serious puts herself in harms way and must rely on her skills to keep Jerri safe. Forced into hiding, the once cold-blooded killer and the innocent nanny are at odds with each other until they realize the stark similarities in their lives (i.e. painful childhoods). However, Serious' struggle with guilt over her sister's death compels her to remain emotionally detached from Jerri. Still in the dark as to why Serious was hired to kill Jerri, the two women set out to uncover the truth. Ultimately, dirty political secrets become uncovered, even the Senator's perverse habit of using date drugs to rape his employees. While in hiding Jerri is attacked by bikers, thus unleashing Serious' fury at the criminals. But Jerri has seen enough bloodshed and begs Serious to spare the man's life. This act teaches Serious an important lesson: that ALL life is sacred. From watching Jerri, Serious begins to understand that there is more control and strength in allowing herself the luxury of vulnerability than there is in trying to be cold and invincible. Serious and Jerri soon uncover the hard truth about the Committee: they are trying to buy the presidency! Now the two women must try to put an end to the Committee's treasonous dealings. However, the band of deadly killers hunting them haven't given up their chase. In the end, Serious must confront a former ally and her most formidable opponent to save Jerri's life and Jerri learns that some people deserve to die.
