A real-time account of the events on United Flight 93, one of the planes hijacked on September 11th, 2001 that crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania when passengers foiled the terrorist plot.
The Military controllers were only used during the military scenes. The civilian air traffic scenes were done by real FAA air traffic controllers.

Just before Captain Jason Dahl announces a delay in take-off, an Air Canada plane taxis behind Flight 93. It's an Embraer Jet, which the airline started flying in 2005, with a 2004 color scheme.
The very last line of closing credits states that the movie was "not sponsored by, or in any way affiliated with, United Airlines."
