During the bar fight scene in the bar the bar tender calls his room mate Curtis and says, "Hey Curtis! It's Joey. Your room mate Joey... You know that new sound you were looking for? Well listen to this." He holds the phone out to pick up the sound of an LP being scratched back and forth. This is an homage to the 1985 film "Back to the Future" when Marty Mayfly is improvising on stage with a guitar and a back stage worker, Marvin Barry, calls his cousin Chuck Barry and says the same thing, "...You know that new sound you've been looking for? Well listen to this." He holds the phone out toward the stage to pick up Marty's guitar playing.
The hotel setting for 1978 has door locks, lighting, and building materials that did not exist in 1978. Look for the key card locks on the doors.
