Rick and Fred, two husbands who are having difficulty in their marriages, are given a Hall Pass by their wives: for one week, they can do whatever they want.
The flash forward scene with Stephen Merchant imagining he murders his wife and ends up in jail was thought up by Owen Wilson.
How do you like me now, golden boy?
Fred: Moron, this is MY car!
Brent: Oh, this is your car?
Brent: Oh, I'm so sorry...
Brent: Does it look like I give a shit, pudgy boy?
Fred: Why am I pudgy boy?
When Gary is arrested (in his dream sequence) he demands to see "a barrister". In England, barristers do not represent clients who are under arrest at a police station (a solicitor does that).
There is a blooper scene after the credits: Stephen Merchant (Gary) films the burying scene, and the "corpse" sits up and scares him.
