Sex & Nudity

  • None, apart from a brief glimpse of buttocks through split shorts. There are no sexual scenes - this is a war film!

Violence & Gore

  • Pretty strong violence and very graphic. A soldier's abdomen bursts open and his intestines spill out.
  • A soldier is tied to a tree and repeatedly bayonetted by a series of enemy soldiers, after which he is beheaded.
  • A soldier is shot in the back of the head. The front of his head splatters open and brain matter splashes into the face of the man in front of him.
  • A man gets stabbed in the eye. He is left writhing in his death-throes with the bayonet still sticking in his head.

Profanity

  • The f-word is used repeatedly as befits a group of soldiers under extreme duress. The s-word is also used a lot. However, much of the dialogue is mumbled or spoken against a background of combat sounds so it isn't always easy to tell.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some soldiers are seen smoking and drinking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • You see a man squatting and relieving himself of diarrhoea (shown on screen). Afterwards he accidentally steps back into his own faeces.
  • The scene of the soldier's intestines spilling is a "dream scene" and a snake wriggles out along with his guts. This is very disturbing.
