| Flawed, yet really awesome
This game, for the most part, is really good. The gameplay is good in both of the racing and platforming sections, as Crash controls identically to his earlier games and the racing can be fun and competitive. The addition of being able to clash with other racers and destroy opponents cars is a bit of a mixed bag. The mode itself is really fun and satisfying to dominate the track. However, it can take away from the competitiveness and make it seem overly easy, even on hard mode. So I think this mode would be best if done in moderation, as if used the whole race, you'll end up being completely alone on the track as everybody else is almost a full lap behind you. The story in this game is alright. I admire how it's less predictable than this games predecessors, but it can come off as stupid at times. But, it's still passable. The level/stage designs are great, as the park and the themed parks all fit the theme very well. Whether it be Pirate, fairy tale, prehistoric, Egyptian, or space, this game represents each theme very well, and they all look great. The tracks are also pretty good as well, as each track replicates the theme of the parks they're in almost perfectly. However, they do sometimes feel identical, as no track really adds anything that new besides how it looks, which is kind of disappointing due to the fact that both of the previous Crash racing games had more variety between their tracks. Overall, despite all that, the tracks are still very fun for the most part, albeit kind of stale. The music in this game is a very mixed bag. I don't mean that it's all just meh. I mean that some music in this game is amazing, while some is bad. I loved the orchestra mixed with the acapella in parks like Mystery Island as well as Tyrannosaurus Wrecks. However, some of the music in Tomb Town and Happily ever faster were straight-up cringeworthy. The park theme song and the music in Astro Land were okay. Overall, the music in this game, in my opinion, is a mixed bag for me. Overall, this game is definitely not the best we've seen from the crazy orange marsupial, but it's leaps and bounds better than his worse, as this games overall fun gameplay, great world design, and almost passable ost. makes this game really awesome, despite its flaws.
