  • GRAW Is a great game.. The use of cover system, squad commands are placed exceptionally well in this game.

Graphics - Graphically GRAW is amazing. Scott Mitchell's suit is well designed. But in Night missions you cannot see anything, you are forced to used night vision for the whole mission.

Gameplay - Gameplay is the plus point of this game. It is very realistic. You can only take three shots before going down. So you take cover or die. You really feel you are in the game. Though it is not so intense as Gears of War, it is the best tactical shooter.

Sound- The sound id just right in this game. The explosions are awesome.

Story - I was surprised. I thought military shooter have no story. But I was wrong. Though it is not as deep as Halo, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

SO, what are you waiting for? Head to the stores and pick up a copy of GRAW.....
  • Warning: Spoilers
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is yest another hit from Tom Clancy and Ubisoft. As usual the main character is Scott Mitchell. You have a cross-com in your HUD which would be one of the most notable changes from previous GR games. The Cross com alerts you of where your allies are headed and can hint to where your enemies are. Another added feature is the enemy finder, which marks any enemies in your direct view with a red triangle while your allies are marked with a blue or green one. i have played both the original Xbox and the 360 version, and i would say that the 360 version is by far better, but that is my opinion.

the graphics are nothing short of brilliant and the character models are fantastic. one of my favorite things to do is run towards cover and crouch or go prone, because, when you do, you either slide or dive for cover.

one of the bad things about the game is the cover system though. you have to press towards the cover to attach yourself to it. but then you have the ability to "peek" over cover which allows you to scope your area without being too exposed to cover.

all in all the 360 version of the game is fantastic and i can't wait for GR:AW 2 to come out
  • Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter at its time was a bar-setter in triple-A tactical shooters, and in my opinion has stood the test of time in that regard (you can take that as a commentary on modern Ghost Recon games if you'd like, not that they're bad I think they've just lost their way from greatness but still exceptional). Anyways, the game really scratches my itch for realistic military shooters, which can't always be found with the Call of Duty games (they scratch the high-octane itch very well though), as it nails the feeling of being a squad commander.

What's preventing me from giving a score of 10 is that story, gunplay and multiplayer could be stronger, the former two are still quite notable.

If you're gonna play this game, it's gonna be to simulate the experience of being a squad commander in the hectic arena of urban combat, and if you're not put off by it's age, you will be wholly satisfied.
