It is revealed that Barney lives at 411 Elm St, in Mayberry. Coincidentally, this is the exact same address of the Texas Schoolbook Depository Building, in Dallas, from which Lee Harvey Oswald would shoot and kill President John F. Kennedy nearly two years later.

Jack Teagarden is listed in the credits. Jack Teagarden is widely considered one of the greatest trombone players in jazz history.

The Greendale mayor's door, and the printing on its window, are exactly the same as the Mayberry mayor's in The Andy Griffith Show: The Mayberry Band (1962). Here, it simply says "Mayor's Office," while in the other they've added "Town of Mayberry" above "Mayor's Office."
