Another episode by George R.R. Martin. I don't want to give away any of the details, so I'll just note that some of us realized how good a writer he was long before _Game of Thrones_, while he was writing for _Analog_ at five cents a word. The digitization does, I will admit, leave a lot to be desired, but is worth enduring for the sake of the writing.
  • They're having a masquerade ball and it's a TV show, so it should make you feel like you wanna be there, among these important characters. Sadly, the production values are very poor! The cinematography (lighting, colors, camera angles) is sorely lacking here. The writing is soporific with one character having a dreadfully hard to understand Irish accent, the direction non existent. But worst of all is they have a set up where they could have cranked up the romanticism and they miserably failed (and I'm only 30 mins in!) Catherine and what's his face, the lion, are not together. He spends his time with another woman. Great! Way to give audiences what they want to see. This, after putting Catherine in a beautiful marquessa gown! Dumb writing, idiotic production values.

Now it's 20 min to the end, and they're back again undergound, with the annoying pipes. Cling CLANG!!! Clang CLING!!!! Extremely loud fingernails on a blackboard noises nonstop. I can't be the only one this racket as that effect on my ears. UGH!!! This show is a piece of crap and is absolutely boring and unwatchable. Poor casting too, especially the lion person. I guess the 3 stars go to the night filming, wet asphalt and Cath's costume. Don't bother with this show and watch the superior "Beast" show: Forever Knight. It even has a beauty in Jeannette. You'll never miss this P. O. S. Show!
