- Buck Rogers awakes from a frozen state in his spaceship from a 500 year sleep. He is awoken by the Draconians. They attack his ship, then decide to tow him in. Luckily, the Draconians are very good at cryogenics.
He meets with Kane and Princess Ardala. She is attracted to him. They decide to put a tracking chip on his ship then send him to earth where he'll either be guided through their defense shield or will be vaporized.
Col. Deering goes out to meet him and guides him into earth. He meets with Dr. Elias Huer and undergoes a physical and psych assessment. He's also assigned Twiki. They decide that he's sincere and no threat.
He tells Col Deering that he doesn't trust the Draconians, who are supposed to be coming on a mission of peace to visit earth. Buck leaves the city and visits the grave of his parents.
The earth fleet finds the tracking device on Buck's ship. He is then sentenced to death.
Finally, they decide that it's better for Buck to go on a mission to explore the Draconian ship than to execute him. Col Deering agrees to commute his death sentence if they find that he was right and that the Draconians are a threat.
