In this hard to swallow episode, there is a rival railroad company that is building tracks through Empire Pass that threatens the livelihood of Wileyville. Billy Jr comes up with a strange plan where the townsfolk will dig up the unused rails and transport them to Empire Pass so that the train will still come to Wileyville.
At this time, let me say that I never really completely understood the whole plan that Bill Jr purposed to the people. The townsfolk were to go dig up old rails and transport them somewhere else all for no charge and to save the town. It must have been a good plan since everyone seemed to be on board with the idea- but for me I never really could get my head around the plan.
Well anyway, the rival company has some roughs that were not happy with the town's plan and wanted to put a stop to the citizens of Wileyville. But with help from Calamity and Bill Jr, the rival company may not be able to stop the people.
Overall the plan had little to do with the story. It was like many of the other episodes in the series, a big company trying to take over the little people. There was not much wrong with the story plus we got to see Dick Jones doing some great stunts. There is one where he jumps off a rock and tackles two rides at one time.
One of the poor moments of the episode was the ending. Just when you think the script has matured into a nice western theme, the writer decided to end the episode in an almost humiliating way. The ending just added embarrassment to an already confusing show.
