Nuts to War: Part 1

The dinosaur version of "The Honeymooners" or "The Flintstones" this is NOT. This and the following episode, "Nuts to War: Part 2," were what made me a huge fan of this show, when I realized that it wasn't a "kids" show *at all*. It's both a hilarious and poignant message about nationalism spiraling out of control. There's so many references to the rise of Nazism in Germany, the first Gulf War, the Vietnam War, McCarthyism/The Red Scare in the USA... pay particular attention to the newscaster and the names that scroll quickly behind him. If I had never seen the show and read comments like what I've just written about it, I'm not sure I would have believed it. But once seen, there's no mistaking that this was show with a mission.
