Nick Baxter's an invader, and his touch proves lethal: he's developed an illness which promises a slow death for him, but a very rapid death by freezing for any organism he touches. David ... See full summary »
David Vincent ( Roy Thinnes) tells Madeline Flagg (Lynn Loring) he would drive her "all the way to Wheeling", which is a town in the upper panhandle area of West Virginia. It lies along the Ohio River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. In 1967 when this episode aired it had a population of about 50,000. By 2018 the city population had been nearly cut in half and only about 27,000 lived in Wheeling.
Freezing deaths apparently ended and an alien landing site exposed. Grudging victories for David Vincent. But the Invader still walks unheeded on the planet Earth. Somehow, someway, he must be stopped.
The pickup truck that the gas station attendant, Robert Sorrells, loans to David, a complete stranger, without even the slightest hesitation appears to be a 1954 Ford. It also appears to be in near mint condition despite the fact that it is 13 years old and is immaculately clean despite it's being used at an old gas station in the hills of West Virginia.
