In possibly an inside joke, the character of the USAF Intelligence Officer - Fellows - is likely named after veteran Quinn Martin Productions executive Arthur Fellows, who worked on Martin's series 'The Fugitive', 'The FBI', 'Streets of San Francisco', 'Cannon', '12 O'Clock High', and 'The Untouchables' as well as 'The Invaders.'
This is the first episode where you see the aliens incinerate when they die.

This episodes end title music features composer Dominic Frontiere's original Invaders end theme. It was the only episode to feature this version. It was rejected in favor of an alternate theme consisting of edited together music cues also composed by Frontiere which is heard in all other episodes. That version changed slightly depending on the length of the end credits, but was similar.
This is the first of two appearances of Suzanne Pleshette who was famous for playing the onscreen wife of Bob Newhart on the Bob Newhart show. Roy Thinnes said in an interview that they were filming this story in the Vazquez Rocks outside LA in the desert and had finished for the day. Suzanne Pleshette and her husband Tom Preston left to go back to town leaving Roy with his car, however he had locked himself out of it and was considering walking the long journey back to town when they returned as they had realized he had not come out of the desert and came back to check he was okay, which he credits with saving his life.
