After criticizing Susie's mini skirt as being too short, herb thanks quite the opposite when old girlfriend Beverly Garland shows up for a visit, looking quite smashing, putting simple dressed Eve to shame. In fact, while she's trying to get him to compliment her new dress, he simply reminds her to call the plumber the next day. Garland, a fashion magazine editor, is the height of chic and is absolutely stunning to out this episode, but she has no designs on herb and he has no designs on her. Of course try to convince Eve and Kay of this, with k observing herb & Garland in a department store shopping for a negligee and Eve overhearing them in a restaurant planning a trip to Acapulco.

Little does she realize that this is simply a business trip that she has arranged to help him gain a new client with her boss, but Eve and Kay are certain that hanky-panky is going on. So how does Eve go out of her way to get her husband back? Disguise Roger of all people as a romantic Frenchman to make him jealous, that's how! He ends up looking closer to Orson Welles then Charles Boyer though, but of course Herb see through Roger immediately. Very delightful episode gives the for adult lots of Juicy material, and they are all equally funny. But it is the sexy Beverly Garland who stands out in those very mod 60's outfits.
  • An old sweetheart of Herb's is coming to the Hubbards for dinner. Eve (Eve Arden) is looking forward to meeting the woman and has a new dress to show off for the occasion. Eve isn't worried, but Kaye (Kaye Ballard) tells her the old romance could be rekindled and the Hubbard marriage threatened. Herb (Herbert Rudley) is shocked by the mini-skirt won by daughter Suzie (Deborah Walley), but when old flame Beverly Garland (as Audrey Fleming) arrives in an eye-popping micro-mini, Herb and Roger (Roger C. Carmel) are enthralled. Eve comments on the cheeky mini, "I think we've seen our first bottomless dress." Later, a misunderstanding indicates the husband once known as "Hot Lips Hubbard" may be seeing even more of Ms. Garland. This episode takes a modern look at the Lucy-Desi formula, with funny results.
