The New Scooby-Doo Movies (1972)
"Sandy Duncan's Jekyll and Hyde"
Scooby, Shaggy and the rest of the gang visits Sandy Duncan on the set of her version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and soon various monsters are trying to scare them away. Daphne gets a job as Duncan's double but when Mr. Hyde kidnaps her the gang must go to the rescue. Sadly this here is yet another weak episode in this two-season series that has never really been one of my favorites. I think the weakest episodes here are much worse than the weakest ones from the previous series but there are all sorts of problems here. One problem is that the story is just so weak and never really adds up to much. The gang gets into one situation after another but I must admit that they all pretty much bored me, which was strange since there are so many villains here. You've got a phantom, a mummy, a dragon, a gorilla and several other monsters that pop out of many places but none of them are all that memorable. I'd even add that the Sandy Duncan character is just downright annoying at times and a complete bore all the time. Scooby is given a couple good moments and especially early on when he gets a crush on Duncan but these scenes can't save the entire episode.
