For the celebrations of California's 150th anniversary, Sydney Fox wants to retrieve a special historical flag, the Bear Flag, to take it into a museum. In the small town of Larivee, they are looking for clues, and a waitress turns out to be very helpful. A mine has recently reopened. Its young owner seems to have something to hide, because he warns Sydney to stay away from the mine, and she takes the warning seriously, because someone else who didn't stay away was murdered...
Tia Carrere gets to play with dangerous explosives (don't try this at home) and hits a couple of mean rednecks in the face with a shovel. Basically the episode works like a typical search story, though, nothing special.
