Chamber of Darkness
The scrolls of Paracelsus (a Swiss doctor and alchemist living in the 16th century) were lost in the Chamber of Darkness, located in a villa in... Peru, strangely enough. Sydney is invited by agent Derek Lloyd to join him on a trip to Peru. Claudia finds out that the real Derek Lloyd is dead, though. Then who is the man who takes Sydney into the jungle?

The Peruvian jungle looks surprisingly like a Canadian forest, just with a few branches from palm trees added. But who cares, as we get an exciting, fast moving story, in my view the best episode of season 1 so far. Even including a mud wrestling scene. Louis Mandylor played the shady agent so well that he would return later for 3 more episodes.
