The pointed peak seen throughout the episode is Pinnacle Peak located in North Scottsdale, Arizona. Today (7/30/2019) over 60 years since filming, the Peak and some surrounding cactus is still there, but the area has been almost fully developed with roads, housing developments and golf courses.

In the opening scene, one of the outlaws tells the other that the Apache raiding party may be part of Mangas Coloradas group. The series is set in the 1870's. Mangas Coloradas was murdered in 1863.
