  • Wow. This is the ultimate short film for people who are treated like doormats by their families. If you have felt that way and want to feel validation for all your sacrifices and how hateful your family is, then this is certainly the comedy for you. All others will probably find the whole thing too dark to be all that funny--though I must admit that the production values are lovely. The acting and direction were just fine.

Arnie's stereotypical Jewish mother is dying and needs a heart transplant. Without even asking him, his aunts volunteer to give her his--after all, they can just give him a pig heart or something and she does deserve it more than he does! Arnie at first is naturally angry, but when even his girlfriend insists that HE is selfish because he won't give his Mom the heart, he finally agrees. Things don't turn out well and in the end not only is Arnie screwed but his hateful family blames him--even though he is now stuck with an artificial heart and can't even get out of bed!

Well made but incredibly dark. This would be a great film to show people who let their family walk all over them. Otherwise, it's a decent time-passer that might be a bit too depressing to enjoy. And, by the way, parts of the film are pretty explicit, so kids probably shouldn't see it.
